NVC Filers - July 2014

Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC!

Before posting questions, please read the wiki I wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!

For up to date time frames, you can view my spreadsheet here. If you would like to be added (or have your entry updated), then please fill out the form here (please read the instructions at the top carefully, especially the update part as people aren't filling the form out correctly [they're filling out information not needed]). And before submitting the form, please make sure the consulate on your timeline isn't the default Armenia. I will NOT add/update you if it is. Also make sure your timeline is completely filled out up to the point where you are.

I will be much less active in answering posts in these monthly threads, so don't bother asking me questions directly and please don't send me PMs with questions. Just post them here for everyone to see and someone will come along to answer. Remember to be patient (re: just post once and wait)

And if for whatever reason, you can't find the answer, try searching both on this website and on Google. It's amazing what you can find if you search

If you're wondering about time frames, I've got a spreadsheet available for a reason And if you're trying to look at a time tick not on it (such as bills being invoiced), look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Oh God! We didn't know about this. Then if he filed an amendment how long will it take to finish the process? Can he get a copy instantly? If not then how about the AOS needed in NVC, can we submit first the copy of his SINGLE tax return and I'll just bring the copy of the amended one in the interview?

Please enlighten me on this thing??????

Called NVC, agent Carl informed me that my AOS Checklist was generated on July 27th. Hoping it's a false checklist. Haven't recieved the email yet, anyone know roughly how long it takes? (and please don't tell me 30 business day LOL)

Helooooo new thread! AOS going out in the mail tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a smooth process for all of us in July, and lots of case completes.

Did you ask if the check list was for a specific item or if it's been accepted?

Oh God!! yes, JUNE 27th. I hope this isn't an omen that I'll be checklisted fully and it won't be reviewed July 27th lol.

I asked if he had the detail and he told me no, that all he could see is that it was generated.

I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds like you might have a for real check list. When I called, the Agent told me I was getting a check list but to disregard it as it was just a reminder to send in the civil documents. She told me right away that it was approved.

Granted, some Agents are dooody-heads and won't give out any information because they're on a power trip. If I were in your shoes, I'd call back and pray for a better Agent and verify if I was getting an actual check list or if the AOS has been approved.

Damn, my third NVC thread. Time flies...not. Hoping to finally be able to pay the IV fee and send that this week. I filled out the DS 261 on June 3, so we'll see. It's "only" been 20 business days, so I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up.

I searched and for some reason can't find the answer to this question-- When people find out that their AOS/IV package was scanned in, did they have to call to get that info? Or does something change on the forms page? Sorry for asking a question that I'm sure has been answered a million times...

When people say their AOS fee changes to "N/A" on the portal, is that the "Fee Payment" or the "DS-260" part of the CEAC portal?
