AOS application for expedite

Last June 17, my husband called the military hotline to request for an expedite of my AOS because we are PCSing to Germany for 4 years. Yesterday, June 22, we received a mail from USCIS Texas regarding the request. Here is what the mail is about:

The status of this service request is:

On 06/18/2014, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I485 Form to notify us that you were requesting an expedited review of your case. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

What Are We Doing

After reviewing our records, we determined that the El Paso USCIS office has jurisdiction over your case and is awaiting your Application/File to be transferred from the National Benefits Center.

Once El Paso Field Office receives your file, your application will be processed and you will be notified.

Here are my concerns regarding this mail:

1. Is the application for expedite of my AOS already approved?
   
2. If yes, how long will it take for the my AOS be processed until I receive my Green Card?
   
3. If the application was not approved, what is the reason for transferring my file to El Paso USCIS office?
   
4. Is my process be faster upon transferring to the field office?
   
5. Will there be a possibility of an RFE after this transfer?
   
6. Will I be scheduled for interview after this transfer?

2. If yes, how long will it take for the my AOS be processed until I receive my Green Card? Refer to #1
3. If the application was not approved, what is the reason for transferring my file to El Paso USCIS office? As stated, USCIS determined El Paso office has jurisdiction.
4. Is my process be faster upon transferring to the field office? Unable to determine without more information.
5. Will there be a possibility of an RFE after this transfer? There is always a possibility of a RFE.
6. Will I be scheduled for interview after this transfer? Unable to determine without more information.

I was just wondering ... in your letter where you explained the reasons why you should received an expedited processing, what did your letter say? My fiancee is currently stationed in Japan and we are trying to figure out how to write out our request for expedited processing.

@ Joclep: we just submitted our aos application last Oct.23 and when we tracked it to usps it says delivered. Is it okey to call the military helpline for expedite process since its delivered already to chicago lockbox? Or do we need to wait for NOA before we call the military helpline for expedite process?

Hi czechtn and JIJourney, we just called the military helpline and told them that we are PCSing to Germany this December (Military Order) and ask if we my application could be expedited.

@ JIJourney: are are exactly in the same situation and wondering the same thing:) I believe that if we wait till we get a NOA1 and then call the military helpline, we will have our case number or something. They can locate it better/faster... I don't know:)))

@joclep: thanks for you reply! So you called the helpline, did they want to see a copy of your fiancé's orders? Did you need anything else? And it got approved?

I am sorry about so many questions. Why would they expedite the application just because the duty station happen to be on a different continent? It's not deployment, right ... Just trying to understand the situation the best so that we have better chances when we will be requesting. THANK YOU!

@czechtn: we got our receipt number and we called military helpline and they send an expedite request to uscis last week.right now we are still waiting for the response or intruction what are we gonna do next.

It is not deployment like Iraq or Afghanistant but it is still considered I guess as deployment. Dont forget that since you are European , you can live in Europe anywhere. But for other nationalities than european uninon it might be different and they would need some visa so it is easier to get us citizenship for spouses. I dont know if it makes sense but I think in this forum we cant use other language than english, so i cant use czech language to explain. sorry

@czechtn: sorry for a very late reply. They didn't asked for his orders and it got approved. I am a Conditional GC holder since August.

It is a Permanent Change of Station..
