Hi all, I got AP because they didn't like our police certificate. They received it last tuesday, and today my case was touched. Will the status on the website switch from Ap --> ready--> issued?

Or will it just sit at AP? I ask because I am excited they touched it, and because the officer said this would only take 1-2 weeks since it was so minor.

If you had interview in Montreal and sent the Police Certificate by Loomis. You should expect the results in 6 to 8 weeks. It sounds a lot of time but Montreal have mail back log of 4 weeks. Good Luck

Yes its like AP >>> Ready >>> Issued

Hi Sashy

Can you keep me posted. Similar thing happened to me last week so I'm hoping my visa will be approved faster than the 6-8 week timeline. My status is still AP but was last updated today which I'm hopeful means someone at least touched my case today.

Will keep my fingers crossed for a speedy approval.

Yes, please keep me updated as well! The officer told me only 1-2 weeks/not that much of time once they receive it. I will let you know! It wasnt touched today, but Im hoping the touches were 1.) received the package and 2.) assigning it to someone

Thank you guys for responding, it makes me feel hopeful! I am an IR/CR visa so I might be issued a little faster than you (Ive heard family/marriage visas take priority) but I will update you all when I learn things. Hopeful for all of us, because it all seems like such little issues.

Im really sour about mine because NVC said it was okay and because my cert said it was conducted by the Halifax RPM, and it says it checked the national canadian database. So it fits all the critiera but because it was done online they didnt like it :|. Oh well, come on montreal <3.

Hi guys,

Just a bit of good news. I just checked my status and it says 'ready'. It is huge news for me. I'm guessing montreal is picking up their pace for application review. Just a note--I'm not sure if it made a bit of difference, but I did write an email about our upcoming aug 15th wedding asking for any help in expediting the process. Again not sure of it had any bearing or if they have even looked at the email yet, but it was one step I completed in between the interview and today.

I will update further when the approved status comes through.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting--this has been the toughest 5 months of my life so far... There is light at the end of the tunnel.

It was last Thursday (June 12) in montreal.

I got my documents to the loomis office on the same day, but they had to overnight deliver them to themselves to be able to track my passport. (Kind of confusing but it worked).

My interview was the 3rd, and montreal received my husbands passport + cert on the 10th. our case was updated the 17+18th, but no change from AP :/,

Not to put a damper on you, but I have been waiting since LAST April. I find it kind of insulting that fiancee visas are going that much faster :/. I just emailed the consulate asking for confirmation of receive + a status update.

I hear that it can take a little while to get from ready to approved, but let's hope for speedy administration all around. I have to believe that it is good that your case has been touched two days in a row. I'll send positive vibes for both of you to move forward very quickly!

Abby and Andre-- I was missing my fiances 2013 tax return (I should have been on this forum sooner to realize it was still required even though on the documentation outline for the affidavit of support only listed a letter from his employer since he is employed though an international company).

Sashy-- I can empathize with you frustration. If my family was kept apart for over a year I would be beside myself. It is only the two of us and unfortunately I'm one of those people who has been denied travel to the USA while this visa is being processed, so 5 months apart has been a tough enough experience. I can't even image how hard it would be being apart for a year.

I can't understand how they decide to go about processing peoples applications, there seems to be a k1 out there who submitted at the same time as us and still haven't received a 2nd notice. The best I can offer is I will keep you in my thoughts/prayers for a speedy acceptance!

Thank you, it really helps.

My tone came off overly frustrated because were both really done with waiting-- and because ours was just for a police certificate, its not even that we didnt have one, they just didnt like the fact that it was done online. Everything else met the requirements for the documents, and the only reason I only had an online one was bc HRM told me it would take them MONTHS to produce a physical one! My husband has moved since then and his current town had no problems producing a normal offline one for us.

Also bc they've had both the cert + his passport since the 10th and no word :|.
