DS-260 question re US residential address

I have the good luck to have been selected in the Green Card Lottery program and am currently completing the DS-260 form prior to interview.

I have hit a hurdle in one section of the form and am hoping you can help with some advice.

It appears that there used to be a question in the 'Permanent Address' section of the DS-260 form asking 'Do you have an address in the United States where you intend to live?' - where you could answer 'yes' or 'no'.

This question now seems to have been taken out of the form - replaced with 'Please provide the address in the United States where you intend to live' - which includes a space for the person you intend to live with.

I don't have a US residential address as yet. I was under the impression I wouldn't have to get one until I moved to the USA (I am in Australia).

Do I need a US residential address right now and if so, how do I go about getting it?

I'm sure you need a U.S address because they will send your green card to that particular address that you provide them. Do you have any friends here in the U.S. You can ask them for their address even though you wont live with them but at least your green card is going to be mail to their address.

Hope this help!
