Hi,

Don't worry. Just wait. They are just carrying out background checks and such.

My wife placed on AP for 9 months before she got her tourist visa too.

They will let you know once it's done. If it makes you feel better, just call them/ email them to ask about the status every 2 weeks or a month.

Best of luck!

Ooohh... Sorry to hear that. I guess right now, you just have to remain patient. It might just be the routine background checks. Good news is they are looking at your case and that they haven't asked any document from you or your fiance. Stay positive and maybe send them another email after 2 weeks if there's still no progress. :)

I agree with you, they put many people in ap without reason.

I am a math teacher, never I havent had problem with the justice or something like that, and I am in ap from march 24.

They do that because they want torture people.

No? That's so unfair of them. The K1 visa process is hard in itself and they giving you more things to worry about when in AP. Sorry, Miss Emily. Hope you get your visa soon.

EVERY intending immigrant from EVERY country in the world is subject to background checks.

In developed countries that digitize records, those background checks can and often do, happen quickly - so quickly the intending immigrant's background check is complete by the time they interview.

In countries that do not digitize records, someone - and it is always a local employed by the US government - has to dig through dusty stacks of old records. That takes time. It also takes motivation and, if you think about it, why would someone who maybe would never have the chance to visit the US much less immigrate hurry so someone else can.

All you can do is wait.
