I called USCIS and both a tier 2 officer AND supervisor wouldn't put in a request for me.

Someone please tell me what to do at this point because this is absolutely ridiculous.

What do you mean they wouldn't allow you to place a request?!

Can you please provide specific information?

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

07-11-2022: Naturalization Interview

The tier 2 officer told me the same as the customer rep, that they can't put in a request because they re "supposedly" processing applications from Oct. 22nd, saying he couldn't put in a request that it wouldn't allow him. So I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, and he said the tier 2 officer kept telling him that I wasn't understanding, and that they are unable to put in request if its within their processing times in the system and wouldn't help me either.

Outside Normal Processing Time

Do you have a case pending with USCIS that is outside the normal processing time? USCIS usually processes cases in the order we receive them. You can get an idea of how long it will take to process your case from the processing time table available on our website. For most applications, you can send us an inquiry if your case has been pending longer than the processing time posted on our website.

NOTE: We are actively processing your case if, in the past 60 days, you:

  • Received a notice from us about your case,
  • Responded to a request for evidence, OR
  • Received an online update to your case status.

To allow time for mailing and processing your decision, please wait an additional 30 days beyond normal processing times before inquiring about your case. If your application type is not listed in the processing time table on our website, our goal is to make a decision on your application within 6 months of filing. Please wait six months before submitting an inquiry.

You are still within published processing times so there is nothing you can do to speed it up unfortunately.

Well I would just really like to knw, how everyone else in this site is able to put in requests when they hot the 5 month mark, some even before that, but they won't do it for me. That's what I am not understanding whatsoever.

See if you can do it yourself through the E-Request...... I have heard that it won't let you though if you have not waited the additional 30 days after the "normal processing times"

They generally won't put in a request unless it's been the normal processing time PLUS 30 days, not just the normal processing time.

and as I said, i just don't understand how everyone else seems to be able to put in a request the moment they hot the 5 month mark. I haven't seen a single person write on this forum, that they had this issue. They all are able to put it in so easily.

I don't recall service requests being put in so soon, but if some succeed I guess it depends on who you get at the other end of the line. They probably can put in a request, they generally just won't until the extra 30 days is up. However I do recall a lot of people requesting updates through their congressmen, that's probably the better route to follow at the moment.

Yeah, just look at all the monthly threads. Once everyone hits their 5 months, they call and put in a request for it, very easily too.

Yeah, I contacted my local congress office and they are gonna try and inquire on it.

Thanks for trying to help everyone!

Don't put any hope into a service request anyway. They're pointless. All it does is make someone look at your file and say "yep, we have it"... it doesn't actually make them DO anything.

Congressman and/or ombudsman are the best routes to go if you are past processing times.

IR1/CR1 Visa - We are using a lawyer!

Embassy: Montreal, Canada

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

Embassy
04 Sept 2014 -- Medical
11 Sept 2014 -- Interview - APPROVED!!!!
15 Sept 2014 -- Package arrived at Loomis location!!!

**03 Oct 2014 -- POE!! **

I NOW LIVE IN OCALA, FL!!!!

On the contrary, if you look in the November NOA1 thread you will see numerous postings of folks attempting to put in a service request only to be denied and asked to wait another 30 days. I'm not sure where you are seeing everyone submit a request at 5 months successfully. It certainly is not happening in the November group

For example: I-130 November Filers - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/464182-i-130-november-filers/?p=6965362

Another: I-130 November Filers - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/464182-i-130-november-filers/?p=6963105

So you are not alone at all. What I think you see is a lot of talk about it perhaps.

That is for the I-130, I am for the K-1 visa. So you have the incorrect threads for my topic.
