Hey Family.

Just wondering what people do while trying to pass the time till they can basically start their lives together with their spouse?

Right now I don't even have the option of calling or texting my husband. Feel like I'm just sitting alone in the dark. We haven't even sent in our I-130 yet! Waiting on a new passport... Then I'll be waiting a year till I can go be with my husband. Lately I've been reading post on here to keep my spirits up..

When you get down, what do you do?

Awww....you're so not alone. TRUST ME!! This site helps so much and if u know other people who are going thru this, talk to them. I spend most of my time counting the days lol. Work out, read some books, watch some movies, plan all the amazing things ur going to do together with ur hubby. Don't worry....it's just temporary :) You're not alone!!

Marriage: 12/10/2013
Sent I-130: 1/23/14
NOA1: 1/30/14
NOA2: 6/10/14
Email that it was shipped to nvc: 6/23/14
Received by NVC: 7/1/14
Case#/IID# assigned: 7/16/14
Received/Submitted DS-261: 7/29/14
Paid AOS fee: 7/30/14
Sent AOS packet: 8/1/14
Aos fee showing PAID: 8/2/14
Received and paid IV Fee: 9/8/14 (fee showing paid / DS-260 available 9/9/14)
Submitted DS-260: 9/11/14
Sent IV packet: 9/24/14
NVC Received 9/26/14

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

Appointment date and time received: 12/27/14

***FAST FORWARD***

APPT complete/Visa approved: 2/5/2015

We skyped all the time and played video games together. Try Portal 2. It has a cool cooperative mode.

I don't know anyone going through this.. everyone I know has a husband/boyfriend that lives in the same country as them.. HOW CRAZY IS THAT?!

I've been working out, reading, and watching cartoons to keep my spirits up :) This site does really help. Before I felt completely alone.. I think I've just been reading too many post on people getting approved and the selfish part of me is feeling down. Some day it will all be our turn!

My husband doesnt have a phone right now or the internet. We basically can't communicate. :(

That sounds nice.. I hope someday my husband and I can get on some kind of routine, I'm planning on buying a car and going for a 3 month visit in 39 days! (pending I can provide enought evidence to the border people that I WILL come back to Canada!)

I guess it could be worse.. at least we're a 20 hour drive away. We are both in very poor spots in our lives.. hopefully that will turn around soon!

This past winter.. I watched the complete 9 seasons of the Nanny on Netflix. I seriously started getting a headache.

Canadian netflix is kinda limited.. guess I could look into getting it again.

Right now Canadian netflix is better than US netflix, at least in terms of movies

Exactly how I feel and how I've felt throughout this process and the 3 years we've been apart. It's an awful feeling and I used to get even more depressed reading about approval rates when I was at the USCIS stage! You have a long way to go. Any chance he can spend the first 5 or 6 months with you up in Canada?

As much as I'd love that.. we kinda screwed around living in each others country last year... now we're both pretty much unemployed... this process seems even tougher when you're broke as a joke! I'm worried about the affidavit of financial support.
