After my petition is approved, I know I have to wait now my NOA2 hard copy and MNL#. In advance preparation should I prepared this documents to be submit to NVC? Is this what they called Packet 3?

K1s don't need to submit anything to NVC. Just wait for your MNL# first and only then, you can proceed to pay for your visa application fee as mentioned in Hank's site.

Also, DS forms in items #2 to #5 are obsoleted and only DS-160 is used. Always refer to the US embassy in Manila website for updated information.

You can now start processing for the listed requirements. However, do take note that the CENOMAR, NBI clearance and police certificate (if applicable) has to be less than 6 months old. The more recent, the better, so best to acquire these documents when you have your interview appointment date.

Don't be nervous. Everybody here goes through it. We obviously survived and are still very much alive.

You are K-1, you do NOT submit anything to NVC, your I-129F petition will be forwarded by USCIS to NVC where it gets an MNL # then the file is sent to Manila.

Items 1-5 in your list are obsolete and not used anymore, 8 is only required if you lived in a foreign country for 6 months or more since age 16, 14 I don't have a clue what that is... so for sure not part of the visa process in Manila

For the process in Manila you need only what is listed in the embassy instructions letter. There is a link to this in my link below, follow the flashing arrow for details on the complete process in Manila.

When you go and get your NBI clearance, your clearance should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The NBI web site is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

I was able to apply online for this purpose. You don't need to go to the NBI main office for this, unless you have a hit or they request for your personal appearance. I only went to one of the NBI centers in a mall. I had a hit and just waited for a few days. Some had to go the main office for case-related involvement or if there is somebody who has an identical name or info as yours.

By the way, you might want to hold on to going to getting an NBI clearance for now until you get an appointment date because interview dates are around July for people trying to get an interview as of date. But if you just want to check if you can get an NBI clearance, just as easily, maybe worth the time and effort and PhP 115.

Your petitioner may call NVC after 10 days of NOA2 to check if MNL case # is already available. You just have to give them some of your info like Name of Beneficiary, DoB and USCIS case #. If the case number is available (make sure to jot it down), the beneficiary can now procede to Visa Payment, Fill up DS-160 and schedule an appointment. And dont forget to do your medical at least a week prior to your appointment date. Good luck!

I'm confused.... "But the NBI online application is not valid for abroad". You can go online and fill out your NBI application. Once you submit it make a copy of the confirmation page or at least the confirmation number. Then head over to one of the NBI locations and pay your fees. It's pretty easy. Do forget ALL names used!

Currently, the appointment calendar is filled-up until June. There are occasional cancellations which some have reported but they are grabbed just as quickly. You really have to wait at least for your MNL# first so you can get the ball start rolling.

But you are definitely doing the right thing of getting ahead, looking up for the interview requirements and knowing how fast you can get them.

Hi, how would we know if the USEM has our case? We received a letter from NVC dated April 9 with the MNL number on it so we just followed the instructions. I called the USEM this week about the next step and they told me its up to our discretion if we want to pay for the visa already (so my fiance and I paid it haha). Can anybody enlighten me on this? I saw some profile timelines with "USEM Rcvd" on it and we don't have any idea how to know. Thanks in advance!
