Hey guys,

I'm an au pair and I will stay for two years, my second year will start next tuesday.

Im trying to figure out how to stay in the US, I know I can come back with another visa and I can study here but it is so expensive and I really cant pay that much. Is there another chance to stay or what happens if I just dont go back home after my second year?

I really have no idea and I need some help.

Im having a boyfriend and I text with some other au pairs who got married and applied for a green card. But there is no chance for us to get married, he is still going to college, dont have really a good job, still living with his parents together...

so is there something I can do to stay legally, to get a green card?!

Please help me, I'm desperate :/

I'm very glad if someone have some answers for me! Thank you.

Oh really.

So that means I just stay, get married, full out some documents, apply for a greencard?! I mean I would be an illegal alien.

its really confusing, I know some people did that bur is there a risk..?

Yes, you will be illegally if you decide to do that path. I have seen many people have done that.

Do I recommend that? No I don't. Because no one can guarantee you that your relationship as a girlfriend/boyfriend will lead you to marriage. As a result, you might face difficulty with your immigration stuff.

And yes, once you become illegal. And your boyfriend marry you. You will just have to file all the requirement forms and fees accordingly. And you will be just fine. Remember to think twice before you decide to become illegal. Some of people I know. After many breakups with boyfriends because the guys were aware of her illegal status and was afraid to get in trouble.

Dump the current boyfriend, find one who will marry you.

He wants to marry me but if I get married in my au pair year I have to back home. I have to apply for my green card at the same time. But he is going to college full time and hes living with his parents together. He needs a good job so I can apply for my GC

Neither are true.

You don't need to go back home.

You can get married while he is going to college unless he is a minority.

Living with parents is nothing to do with it. It might make your marriage life miserable or it might be good. Who knows.

And his parents can joint sponsor you if they make above the poverty guideline.

Good luck

If I dont apply for my GC at the same time, I have to go back home. I text with a few other au pairs who got married. Sure I can marry him right now but we dont want to because he doesnt have a own place or something else. Its complicated, I wished it would be easier!

Thanks for your answer!
