Hi,

I am currently a student and my father's brother is a US citizen , but i tried to search the forum post and pretty much uncle/aunt cann't help me immigrate directly .

But i am a medical student currently studying in China for past 3 years . (My hometown is from India) My medical course is of 6 Years.

I really want to visit USA before i grade , preferably this holiday so i can enjoy .

It would be fine if i can even get multiple visit visa as i dont plan to work unless i clear my USMLEs , but it would be nice to visit my uncle every vacations .

If you guys can help me what visa type or what way should i go , it would be really helpful .

Or should i just apply for normal tourist Visa , and show uncle as my gurantee in US ?

Thanks alot for reading

Appreciate it

You can apply for a visitor visa, however nothing your uncle will do will have any bearing on it. You will be approved or denied based on your own merits and concrete proof shown to the interviewing officer that you will return to your country after your authorized stay is up if you were to be granted one.

To come on a visitors visa you must show that you have ties outside the us not in. having an uncle here is actually a negative. But your unfinished degree is a plus apply on your own, answer everything honestly and bring proof of why you have to leave at the end of your visit

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

But if they ask where I intend to stay during my vacations ?

I was thinking if i show them that my uncle is wealthy settled guy , he can afford my stay . But i understand that it can be suspicious and they might think that i have immigration intentions .

Your uncle being wealthy and living here with a house, mentioning him will give you a negative side on your case on tourist visa. You need to show your ties to china/India. Why would you leave the U.S.

Sorry, but I think you've gotten some misleading advice here. The visitor visa application form specifically asks where you intend to stay and who is paying for your trip. If you are intending to stay with your uncle, that's what you should put on the form. If he is paying for the trip (by paying for everything except maybe the airfare), you should put that. To lie and say you intend to stay in a hotel, for example, might lead you to problems. People with relatives in the U.S. get visas to visit all the time -- people who try to lie or conceal that they have relatives in the US frequently do not get approved, as it becomes obvious that there are problems with their story.
