At first... I came as a student, but after that I've been overstayed for too long. Since 1997--believe it or not. I never been married and never have a kid. No criminal record at all and I always pay my taxes. But too much other problems has been preventing me of doing such kind a decided action to adjust my immigration status and I've stucked in a neutrality zone for such a long time!

When I just finished a practical school as a hemodialyis, I'm certified and everything is ready now. The only stumbling block that give me the hard times is how to get my working permit. That's all. Forget about greencard or citizenship program. Let's do it one thing at a time: Working Permit first. But I have no Idea how to get it.

I know you probably said, just marry a citizen to upgrade your status. Oh well, I always appreciate those simple shortcut answer.

But anyway....Is there any special program or other crack open door.. or a second chance for me to be able to get my Working Permit without marriage?

How long does it take, is it worthed and how much is the total cost?

Thanks for any eye opening answers.

Since you have overstayed and violated the terms of your past visa, you are no longer eligible for a normal work permit.

Depending on your age you could look into DACA.

Nothing else.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

You have been here too long as an illegal. Now its time to do it the legal way for once in your life instead of avoiding the very systems we all had to use to come here and learn to live as legal residents of citizens. You know exactly what you are doing until it comes to going thru the process of becoming a legal working resident of this country.

Don't look to others to open your eyes after staying in the shadows all this time. Come out into the light and see what happens.

I finished and gained my license as a practical nurse LPN. I have never been out of status nor being illegal in any mean. When I tried to apply for a job, it was trying to pitch in a black hole. On the other hand, my friend who has a bachelor's degree in nursing, she received a sponsorship from a hospital. So she AOS and received her work permit. Though, she had never been out of status either.

My suggestion is to legalize yourself or get a higher education at least a bachelor's degree. In order for a company or any health care facilities to give you a sponsorship. It is not an easy road though.
