Hey guys, I got married on the 22nd of last month and am sending off my AOS package tomorrow, just wanted to make sure I have everything:

I-485 Permanent resident form

I-864 Form along with 2013/2012/2011 tax transcripts

G-325A Form

EAD form

E-notification (Don't need the AP)

3 passport photos (I put an extra in since I had 3 spare)

Copy of NOA2 from K1

Copy of my passport page

Copy of K1 visa page in my passport

Copy of birth and marriage certificates

Letter from SSN office saying my number is registered to me (I know this isn't needed but I had it spare)

Car insurance and phone bills showing joint names

Wedding/relationship photos

And of course the $1070 payment

Does all this look good.

Why do you not need AP, apply for it anyway, costs nothing so just do it . You may need AP, you never know.

I was about to say the same thing. It's a quick form and will be combined with your EAD card. You never know. And green cards can take a bit to get, especially if you end up in the interview waiver group). Better safe than sorry.

 Whole-heartedly agree!! With the current very protracted AOS approval times, for just another small additional form at no additional cost... consider concurrently applying for your AP document.

After reading these posts I realized I need a little help. We are also sending in our AOS this week. I am confused about the fees I understand the I-485 fee is $1070, however is there an additional fee for filing for AP and a work permit? If anyone could help explain, that would be great.

Don't forget a copy of the USC's birth certificate and/or passport bio page for proof of citizenship. Also, the W2s.

Agreed with others, it's a good idea to apply for EAD/AP with AOS, as lead time for GC might take longer. But the decision will always be yours.

The problem is I was on a esta visa from the uk I understand we need to Aos but that's about all I know so we need all the help we can get . He's at college and doesn't graduate until next year so he doesn't have an income because he is a double major and really doesn't have time so how much money do we need how do we do it ect ect I really need to know as much as I can if anyone can help . I thought I would try here before I spend loads of money on asking a lawyer the same questions

By all means, get the EAD/AP combo card.,.,.,it costs nothing more, so, why not?

We never know when an emergency will arrive, and someone may need to travel,..,the AP is a "free" process.,..,take advantage of it!

FILE, the AP form with your packet, it might even slow down your AP, if you do not take the EAD/AP combo card.

Expect 80-90 days for EAD/AP.,.,., and our AOS was about 6 months.,., (GC)
