So I filed for my husband in January 2014 and it's now April. The only thing I know is that the USCIS Texas service center has received my file. They sent me a letter telling me that it has been received and is processing...but it's been THREE MONTHS! Shouldn't I have heard something by now? A second NOA? Anything!?

Ughh I just hate waiting and I can't afford to see him right now, so our relationship is kinda suffering. :(

Any words of advice?

The wait time is like 6 months. Gotta wait girl. Go to USCIS.GOV and check your case status there. It will also give you the national average. Be patient!

mine took over 9 months... when your status change to "transferred and processed at local office", normally is approved/denied in 60 days. I know it's hard, but all we can do is to wait...

06/02/2013 E-notifications (text/email)

06/22/2013 NOA1 hardcopy received

12/18/2013 Transferred & being processed at NSC

AOS (changed from IR-1/CR-1 Visa to AOS from B2)

TSC is notoriously slow. The only advice is try to keep busy while waiting. Standard processing time is 5 months.

Advice would be to get used to waiting and think of what comes at the end of the process rather than suffering through it. I hope that you get a faster approval than a lot of last years filers though :)

I'm at about 8 months now. Filed in late August 2013, went to National Benefits Center, February got notice it was transferred to Texas Service Center. I'm not going to be thinking much about it until May or June, which would be going on 9-10 months. At that point, I'll be getting worried.

My NOA2 took over 10 months. Some took longer than that. You can't really do anything until after 6 months so just get comfy.

July 22: SSN card in the mail
August 30, 2014: Green card arrives in the mail!!!

Girl you've only just begun your process at 3 months.......... From the date you got your NOA1 then add six months, then you can start worrying a little, but last year it took people sometimes 8, 9, or 10 months to hear something. Will pray for you, be patient and so you know the Texas Service Center is the slowest from all Ive heard and read........ Patience and lots of strength.

I sent mine late February and we receive NOA1 maybe the last week of February. It's April now I haven't heard anything except that my Alien number has changed... Mine is Texas too.. I think it's really long with them.

Does it also depends which country you're from? I'm from Canada?

After 4-6 months I would recommend contacting your senator to inquire about the status. It cant hurt and mine seemed to move along quicker after that. My husband arrived in the states just under a year from when we filed our i-130. Many have taken much longer. My husband found Visa Journey 6-7 months after we started the process. It really helped us to know the process better. In the end we stressed a lot because we couldn't afford to visit during that time apart but when he arrived it was all worth it and we realized we were stressing for nothing!
