Time it takes for petition to go from NVC to Manila?

Hello all,

I have been comparing the timeline of others on here. Specifically the time it takes for the NVC to send the petition to Manila. My petition was sent on March 21, 2014 and I have seen others claiming the consulate receives the petition in a week. It is now going on 3 weeks and we haven't heard from the Embassy. I have called Manila repeatedly and they can't give me any clue as to where the petition could be. They just say wait for the notice letter. Not sure if this matters but a K2 visa is also in this process. We have completed the DS-160 (K1 and K2), 134, paid for the interviews, printed all documents, photos and proof of relationship.

Any ideas on what to do now?

Thanks

It really depends my dear. We have this so called "Time frame" it varies in every filing location you've sent the petition to. I had my husband filed the 129f back in 2012 in Vermont, last week of February, then he get the notification from them around March that they were already processing our petition, then we heard from them again around April that they have transferred the petition to Manila, then August They've sent him a letter first that I am already approved in processing and our next step was to provide the requiring documents for my medical and interview. I had scheduled my medical month ahead before my chosen interview date( just in case there would be a trouble with my medical. I had my medical around September, and my interview on October 30 and then thanks God , I got approved! then I went fly to US with him :)

Patience is a virtue my dear, you can always use the time frame they have in USCIS website, or you can give them a call

P.S during US Holidays, they don't do any processing, one of the reason why it took me almost 8 months also because of these US Holidays

But its all worth it.

I hope it helps, even a little bit

Good luck!

Seems like you have everything you need for the interview in a row now. Have you tried scheduling your interview online? As long as you have the MNL# of your beneficiary/ies, you can start setting the schedule of interview here: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/

NVC to USEM process lead time ranges from 2 weeks to 1.5 months. Recent availability of interviews is in June now, so it's safe to say your file will be in USEM by then.

The "notice letter" from USEM, which others call Packet 3 doesn't reach most visa applicant in Philippines, so better not wait for this.

In the mean time, you might as well just double check all requirements in USEM: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf

You can call NVC at 603-334-0700 to get the MCN so you can book the interview. We only called to get it and I got a June slot for the interview. Just give them the receipt number from the NOA and your full names/DOBs.

When I spoke with the embassy they said a conformation letter is needed at the interview. Is that correct? So many people have said they never received the letter.

Thanks for the help

You have your MNL # I gather. Don't bother waiting for any letter from USEM, they rarely arrive.

Everything is online for the complete process, you can follow the flashing arrow below for details

Thanks for the help

The confirmation letter/email is from when you schedule the interview online, this isn't "the letter that never arrives" when you complete scheduling of your interview there is a box to click to email the confirmation to you... that is what you will need at the interview.

Oh ya, pop over to the Philippines forum, at this point you will get better answers to your questions

Your confirmation letter is the "APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION", which you can print-out on your own after you have scheduled your appointment either online or via phone.

By phone, the USEM phone operator will email you this confirmation letter.

By online, either you save your confirmation letter as pdf after setting the schedule or you send an email to yourself. If sent by email, it will be from ustraveldocs.com. The print-out should have a header "APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION". Bring this appointment confirmation letter with you along with the rest of the requirements (http://photos.state....tober 2013_.pdf) when you go for the interview.
