Hello. It's very possible I could be pregnant and I can't find any info on this topic. Does anyone know if US immigration tests for pregnancy during the visa medical exam? I will be filing for adjustment of status. (Canadian married to American in America)

Also how would this affect the visa process and I'm confused as to where I should have the baby. Thank you in advance. :)

Hello Harpa Timsah. Sorry I've forgotten to update my profile. We will be going the adjustment of status route. We will be getting married very soon! I'm here as a visitor.

If you are pregnant then you can still do the medical but they will so a few things slightly differently to be safe. If you need an xray they can still do it with a lead shield on the belly. If you want to know you are pregnant than take a pregnancy test or see a separate doctor :)

Q47. Can a civil surgeon perform a pregnancy test on a female applicant with menses two weeks

late and, if negative, give live vaccines?

A47. The Vaccination Technical Instructions do not contain information on pregnancy testing. They do

not indicate that a pregnancy test must be performed on female applicants in order to determine whether

live vaccines may be given. They also do not prohibit pregnancy testing. The civil surgeon should use his

or her discretion to determine if pregnancy testing is appropriate for a particular applicant in order to

provide the required vaccines.

I was pregnant when I went to my medical exam, I just took my vaccination records, I don't think I needed any vaccines, about the x rays doctor just wrote it couldn't be performed because I was pregnant and told me uscis would send me later an appointment to do it ( which they never did and I got approved) they didn't ask me for any preg test but maybe because you could really tell I was pregnant (lol)

My wife did not have to have an x-ray. I thought an x-ray is only required if the TB test is positive or inconclusive.
