Hi everyone!

I know there's been lots of posts about this, but it was shocking for me to receive the Alien Registration Number so early!

I've just logged in to USCIS website to check my case status and it says that my Alien Registration Number was changed on 2th of April, a day after we got our NOA1.

Does this mean that things are going fast in TSC and we'll get NOA2 soon? I really hope so!

Best wishes and good luck on your case!

I received NOA1 on 29 January 2014 and my Alien Registration Number changed on 30 January 2014. A day apart.

So no I wouldn't expect an approval soon. There is a backlog of 5.5k petitions at TSC right now, go read October, November and December threads.

Petitions going through California are going A LOT faster than Texas (like 1 month compared to 5 months) so please be sure to look at approvals from Texas as that is more relevant to your case.

Yeah, I have read that somewhere as well. We didn't send a lot with ours, Just enough to make sure it is a genuine relationship and that we have meet in person 3 times within a year etc etc

That way, I'm hoping that it can lead to an early approval of some sort? I don't know. But In my mind I say that we will get approved in the 5-6 Month period, That way I don't go insane ;)

I'll be praying for you, And please let me know if there is a change in your case, I'd love love love to hear back from you :)

I'd love to hear back from you, too! We also send not a lot evidence, just enough, so I really hope it won't take 5-6 months, but like you, I also think that we will get approved in 5 months :)

Best wishes and good luck!

I've read that when they assign an Alien Registration Number, it means that an officer started looking into the file. So right now our files are being looked into, even if it's only 2 days since they got mine :) So I think there isn't really a waiting line, the wait depends on the evidence and the background information they need to get. Some take months and months and some take only a few weeks.

Yes, Must be true, I'm guessing some people don't send enough information or they forgot to sign something so they get it back etc, So they go on with the next one etc etc.. But one day we will hear something, Until then.. we just have to do something to keep us occupied, I've started reading a book, So hopefully that will pass time :)

It's only a few days and I feel really stressed about it, I think I'll go mad by the time I get the approval :) That's a good way to relax, though, and I've been watching TV series, and Game of Thrones is coming out so that'll be a great way to pass the time ;)

i can't speak for everyone at TSC but from what i have seen....TSC is updating the ARN within a few days of the NOA1 date. And unfortunately, it does not appear to be an indicator of a quick approval. i wish it did though! ;)

Wait I'm very confused.

I thought NOA1 is also the ARN changed. I mailed my package on Jan 10th. They received it on Jan 6th and I got a NOA1 on Jan 15th.

This has been in my USCIS case status:

On January 17, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

So are we supposed to wait 5 months (avg) from NOA1 or from ARN ?

My petition processed at TSC and back then they were pretty fast for approval. Though compare to their counterpart, CSC, an average TSC was slower. But, when they sent approved petition to NVC, CSC was infamous slow for doing this. TSC was much better because I've got my case number 2 weeks after approval shown on USCIS website. One of CSC fellows here got her case number almost 2 months after approval. I think you can figure out why, ;) .

The record from TSC that I have known so far as fastest approval was in 11 days from NOA-1 and he's from United Kingdom - not included applicants from the Philippines who got expedited because Yolanda typhoon-. He was September filer. I've been following K-1 visa forum for a while and I can say there is a fluctuation for average approval from different service centers. I was never expected fast approval came soon just like you do.

For OP: Bear in mind that only a small fraction of petitions from around the world we have seen here on VJ. And what are showing on VJ timeline of adjudicating of case file is really not accurate. It only based on people who updated their timelines regularly.

Wait I'm very confused.

You are supposed counting time from your NOA-1 to NOA-2. Alien registration number has nothing to do with it.
