My fiancé went in for his interview on March 9th. He felt pretty confident about the interview and everything went okay, but he had to get his TB test renewed. The consular officer gave him a white piece of paper with TB test checked and told my fiancé that once he renews the test to send the results into the embassy with that white piece of paper and his passport. The embassy received everything on March 13th so my question is did anyone go through the same thing where they sent in their passport or left it at the embassy during the interview and had a really long AP?

I know that it's barely been 3 weeks but I'm too anxious and terrified of the AP nightmare lasting several months. I'm thinking that since they asked for his passport they wont take too long??

It's hard to tell. The embassy kept my husband's passport, we were on AP for about 4 months. Just remember, AP eventually comes to an end. I know it's stressful and you want him here now but in the grand scheme of things AP is nothing. Even longish AP is nothing.

It could be shorter too...I hope it is for you. The exact same thing happened to my fiance, and then we were approved about 15 days after they received the updated test. Good luck!

That's sooo long!! I'm glad you have it now though and maybe it's because it's a spouse visa and not a fiance I know they do a lot more background checks for those. I'm just hoping and praying for the best...

If the consulate officer told my fiancé at the interview that there was "no problem issuing the visa" and we are in "final review" (which is apparently the hell after the AP hell), is it safe to assume we have been approved and it's just a matter of time? Or are we still where we started... having no idea if we will be denied?

I'm sure you're okay. This process is maddening.
