March 2014 Interviews

Hi everyone!!

I would like to know when should my attorney can schedule the appointment for the biometrics? I already have the interview at the consulate scheduled for March 28. I'm just nervous, she said she can schedule it one day before, but I don't trust her very much. Is she right? Or should I make her schedule the appointment as soon as I can?

Here's information from your countries portal here on VJ. It addresses your questions.

And yes you need a police report.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

Checked CEAC website, and our case now shows "In Transit," and I called NVC to confirm and they said our case was shipped out on Feb 7th. I haven't seen any information on the DHL website yet, but I'll check later. Like everything else, their website doesn't always update immediately either. The last package I saw leave NVC to Manila was dated Feb 4th (right before the bad weather up there). So I'm sure I'll see something tomorrow.

My wife did her medical at St. Luke's already and she's good to go. They didn't have the TDAP shot available though (for tuberculosis vaccine I think), but she was told she could get that from her regular doctor and just take the proof to the embassy interview. So now we just sit back and wait until March 10th... Four more weeks!!! (And hopefully it doesn't take TOO long for the visa to be ready, so she can come "HOME" soon after that!)

As they say in the military, "you are cocked, locked and ready to Rock!!"

Just checked mine: Financial Evidence has "Y" Status.

I guess it has something to do with EP

There was a case where the AOS was missing altogether from the packet at the embassy and an original AOS was requested.

So just to be safe i'm sending another copy of the AOS (original and ink signature) to my spouse along with the tax returns/w2 etc [basically the AOS packet ]

Good Luck

Thanks so much for sharing!

Looks like I'll be mailing the whole packet to my wife as well, the whole AOS packet.

Hey Dwheels! We are gearing up for our interview on the 13th! I can't wait to hear that we are approved!

I just need to confirm that I am not missing anything because I am kind of a nut:

Husband has gotten medical done-he will pick up the results the day before the interview

Husband is bringing a copy of the interview letter

Husband is bringing copies of all civil documents

Husband is bringing pictures and evidence throughout our relationship and marriage
Police certificate was sent to consulate, but he is bringing a copy just in case

He is bringing two passport pictures

Obviously he is bringing his passport.

He is bringing a copy of our marriage certificate (even though they should have that there)

Everything else (supposedly) has been sent by NVC to the consulate

Yesterday when looking at the consulate website, we realized we hadn't registered for shipping, so we were able to register him through the consulate with UPS so he can get his passport back. Should he bring that documentation that was submitted for UPS? When does that come into play?

Why am I hearing about biometrics appt on this thread? Is that the same thing as medical? And if not, then was that something that should have been done beforehand? Nothing on the interview letter mentioned anything.

Do you think we are all set? Eeeek!

12/30/2012 Got married!

02/01/2013 Sent I-130 via Priority Mail USPS

02/05/2013 NOA1 Priority Date

04/09/2013 Called USCIS-informed by Tier 2 officer that my case was transferred to Washington D.C. on March 13

09/05/2013 NOA2

09/27/2013 NVC received case

Submitted DS-261

Paid AOS bill

10/16/2013 Paid IV bill

10/19/2013 Submitted DS-260
10/21/2013 Mailed AOS and IV packages overnight

11/15/2013 IV package accepted/Checklist for AOS

11/26/2013 New AOS documents received at NVC

12/19/2013 Case Complete

12/27/2013-Received Interview letter

01/26/2014-Husband's Medical Exam

02/13/2014-Interview- Approved, but the consular officer did not see I-864 joint sponsor documents, and sent my husband home with the packet of all the original documents, and told him to mail it in when he gets it. My husband realized that the "missing" documents had been there all along. Husband immediately mailed it back.

02/26/2014-Consular office received "missing" documents and gave it to CO for review

03/17/2014-Visa Issued!

03/20/2014- Received Visa

03/21/2014- POE!

If you aren't nuts by this stage something is wrong with you. LOL

Your list looks perfect spot on. As for biometrics every embassy is different Mexico and I believe India do their biometrics at a different location days before interview. Most though do it right at interview in embassy. I think because India and Mexico are so bust and so many people they can just focus on interviews.

Looks good. Now relax. You have your closets cleared? Shelf space for your hunni. a Coat, gloves warm wear (if you are north, heck now south we are freezing.)

I am sooooooooooooooooooo ready for some approvals and some happy joyous praise.

Hi Guys,

I finally got this notice from NVC stating that my case is complete and sent to Guangzhou Consulate and the interview date is March 17.

However, in the letter it also has a list of documents seemingly needed for the interview. The instruction on these documents is kind of confusing. I've attached the document requirement here.

What is this Financial Evidence here? The status S means that NVC received a scanned copy and I need to bring the real one to the interview. Does this mean I need to mail my tax return for the I-864 to my wife so she can bring the original document to the interview?

I can't think of anything else that's financial evidence. Any advice would be really appreciated!!

1. all files emailed in (forms, documents, evidence) should be hand carried on interview day. forms are originals with original signatures.

2. DS-260 confirmation receipt (can be a scanned/emailed/reprinted version)

3. [subset of 1] HER WHITE BOOKS!

4. Document Delivery Coverpage, gotten at ustraveldocs.com/cn (ch?)

5. Medical exam stuff

---

Financial Evidence - the I-864 with original signature plus all of the stuff you submitted into NVC with the I-864.

Edited by Darnell

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

They really are taking their time mailing my case to the embassy. Kept looking online to see it change status to "transit" or "ready". Nope still at NVC. I even called and they told me "The online status is unreliable. Your case is currently in line to be mailed to the embassy and you have interview date March 3rd..." ect... Less than 3 weeks away and it hasn't been put in the mail yet.headbonk.gif

Finished for now!!
