Hi Every1

I been a silent reader from a long time. Forgt my password for the other account london92 so made a new. Anyways i was interview on 11-oct-2012

Recently recieved an email to submit updated medical along with ds160 and pics.

Which i did on 29 nov. Case updated on 4,5 dec then today recieved a call from the embassy.

The guy on the phone said:

Please can you come to the embassy. We need to do your fingerprinting and you need to take oath and after that your visa will be issued.

The thing that surprises me is that i havent heard anyone being called again for fingerprinting and oath taking for k-1 visa after being in ap for 14 months.

Is there anyone here who had similar experience ?

Did the embassy also send you an email to come in? You will need an email from them to get into the embassy.

I have never heard of them asking for fingerprints and oath taking again but you must do what they say to get your visa.

When you got your visa then.?

after the fingerprinting, they would tell you 2 weeks.. but in some cases, it would take around 3-4 weeks to get the visa.

Hi,

I am in the same boat and wanted to see if anyone can help me with this situation.

I had my K1 visa interview on April 28th and the officer asked me a lot of questions, after all the questions he said your case seems ok, but I need some additional documents and gave me a 221(g) asking to submit my fiancee's divorce certificate and an explanation as to why the previous case was withdrawn.

Long story short, we submitted all the documents and received an email from them today to come to the embassy again for oath for ds-260 and finger printing .To make sure this is something that embassy normally requests, we asked a lawyer who we have been consulting on and off on our case to see what he thinks but the reply I got from him was shocking to say the least.

He said that this rarely happens, he has just seen this happen with cases where they sense some sort of fraud and asked me to be really careful with what I say when I am at the embassy as it could jeopardize a k2 visa that I might have to apply after this one is refused. As you can imagine this has become really worrying for me and I was hoping if anyone who has gone through this can guide me.

BTW I live in Karachi and the case is in Islamabad embassy.

I want to know if this really is something that they normally request? Or they just ask ppl to come and take another oath for cases they think are fraudulent? My case is completely genuine and I don't see any reason why they would think that way.

Also, I tried submitting DS260 as they asked on their email but it say that I cannot submit ds-260 because it is not applicable for K visas, do you think this was a typo from the embassy that instead of writing ds-160 they wrote DS260 by mistake.

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with the above questions.. Thanks!

Yes these days the embassy is asking people to come in for new finger prints and oath. It is normal and doesn't mean they think your case is fraudulent.

Yes they may have made a typo send the DS-160 if it is the correct form. Ask them if you are approved and see what they say after you take the oath.

I got response of the e-mail i sent to the embassy, I checked the status, they updated it, my question is does the e-mail response from the embassy change status update? or they are working on the case?
