Yes my consulate is Mumbai and Passport office is from Ahmedabad. PCC is not required at the NVC step. You dont need to send PCC to NVC.

When is your interview ?

Please read this link below.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Quoting from the DOS link:-

Required Documents

Original documents, photocopies, and translations (if required, as explained above) of the following documents must be submitted to the NVC for you and each family member immigrating with you to the United States.

I did send the PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) obtained from the passport office at chennai to NVC as indicated in the link above. Wasn't that hard and just took a week to get the PCC from that office.

Since you are F2A, any delay in NVC will affect you with the processing as all F2A category people are affected by Visa bulletin and you don't want delays in your case as VB needs to be current for an interview to be scheduled at the Mumbai consulate. If i were you i would send the PCC to NVC as part of IV docs. We did get a case complete last week without any checklist.

NVC would not allow our case to proceed without the PCC. Police Records are required documents as vkrishn stated above.

I am the petitioner.

Hi..

i was also confuse abt sending my PCC or just wait until my interview..so i called NVC and the lady told me that don't send it with DS-260 or DS-230 cuz Mumbai consulate doesn't require to send pcc with DS-260..so i sent everything else but not the PCC..after couple of weeks i got checklist saying iam missing my PCC..so i sent it afterward

Talk about the Devil. I called NVC today morning to check on the interview and reconfirmed that our Case is complete. I am still waiting for the email though. In the evening i got a checklist for PCC. We did submit our PCC to NVC(original and copy) and pretty sure it was part of the Doc package. Called NVC twice now and they confirmed that it was a false checklist and they have the PCC and Case is COMPLETE and waiting for interview to be scheduled. I hope they don't have some interns looking our case at NVC.

Seriously, NVC is a joke!

Interview is scheduled by NVC but they haven't done for my wife yet. I just got a Case complete on Dec 5th(Reconfirmed it twice) but got a false checklist today. You need to contact ustraveldocs(email given below) about rescheduling the appointment as given below.

"All immigrant visa applicants must appear in person at the Consular Section for an interview. If you cannot make this appointment, or you know your documents will be incomplete, please notify the Immigrant Visa Unit immediately via email at support-india@ustraveldocs.com."

Congrats. Been on 4 calls to NVC to ask about our "false" checklist post Case complete and now they think that my wife needs to get a latest copy of PCC for the interview even though the one NVC has (they acknowledged that they have the PCC from us) is dated Sep 2013 and it should be valid for one year! Beats me.

Only thing consistent in all four calls was that our Case is Complete and waiting for an interview. Lets hope that happens and they sent a list of things to bring it to the interview. I am not even sure if Passport office will issue my wife a new PCC now.

why wouldn't the passport office issue a new PCC if you needed it?
