Thanks. Well during my husband's interview the lady told him that they need more time with the case. Whenever I check the state department site it says "Administrative Processing".

***Moved to waivers and AP forum from IR1/CR1 process and procedures because AP is not necessarily part of the IR1 process and to be with like threads.****

no one seems to be helpful at all. Whenever we call the consulate someone either picks up and immediately hangs up or they say the same thing "we will call you when AP is done".Did they tell you your case was approved? what did the officer tell you after your interview?

The people at the embassy will never tell you why you are on AP, I've done it too, but they never answer. If you were told that there is nothih to worry about and that you were approved, and they kept the passport, perhaps they really just need a time for further review, mostly this is a securoty check

She told my husband the same thing as you. That the visa is approved and everything looks good, but they just need some time. I don't know why it's taking long for casa to issue visas. You have been on AP for more than 60 days right? They said that the AP cases get resolved within 60 days of the interview. Didn't you ask the consulate what's taking so long?

I just think its ridiculous that we can't know why and we can't know anything about it. Next week will be 60 days since we were put on AP. I don't know what to do.

The same thing happened to us. I even contacted the congressman and he contacted the consulate, and they gave him the same old reply "it's under AP and we will call the beneficiary when it's available". Did you contact the congressman?

It's sad that you had to wait for 60 days before you know what happened, that's according to the travelstate webstie, it says that wait at least 60 days before you inquire. When I was put on AP I waited after a week before I inquired. Even though I though that they only needed one missing doc I was also freaking out and worried that I might wait a long time. But I guess AP varies depends on the case, mine was because of one missing doc. I've read on doff website about AP, but mostly they say you are put on AP preferably because they had seen something wrong on the case, or you havent proved them that you have genuine relationship with each other. And sometimes it's for security checks, I pray this will be over for you soon. I know how hard it is to wait for something you don't even know how long, just pray hard and be a little more patient. I know I was impatient too, but I really did pray hard and it helps :)
