Hello everyone. I am so confused. I was told that once you get approved for the fiance that you have to leave the Philippines right way or else my fiance will be questioned as to why he didn't leave right way. My fiance will be having his interview on Tuesday August 20 and if all goes well and he gets approved we planned for him to leave September 28 to accompany my Tita who will also be coming but now I am hearing that once he gets his visa he must leave right way. Can someone please clarify as it would be a waste to make 2 trips to the airport 1 week apart. Thanks

The visa is typically valid to enter for 6 months from either the medical or the interview date.... Sorry, I'm not positive on which one. In either case, he does not have to leave right away... Good luck!

^^ ditto... If he has work commitments he can state that. I really don't think its a problem.

Thanks. He actually just resigned from his job but people here are telling me that he will get questioned if he doesn't leave once he gets his visa. I am sure if he gets approved his visa might not come until a week or so. It just doesn't make any sense to make 2 trips to the airport 1 week apart. I am aware that the visa is valid from 6 months from the time you take the medical if I am not mistaken.

The people advising you that your fiancee will be "questioned" doesn't know anything.

He can leave anytime as long as it is within the VALIDITY date of his visa.

I think your case is ok...timing his trip to your aunt should be fine, expect him to be questioned but I don't think they'll make a big fuss about it as long as its within the validity.

You are hearing wrong... stop listening to those people ... girlwerewolf2xn.giflaughing.gif

The visa is good for 6 months from the date of the medical in regards to the K-1, so you fiancé will have lots of time after the visa arrives before having to clear POE. No one at immigrations will care as long as he clears POE before the visa expires.

My wife and I stayed in the Phils for almost 2 months after the interview before flying back to the States.

i have a question, when you are leaving PH (k1 visa) are we supposed to buy one-ticket only?

Buy whichever ticket you like, it matters not.

Thanks Hank :) My fiance's aunt also came here to the US on a fiance(e) visa but did not leave right away and stayed for 5 months because of work so she said she was questioned as to why she did not leave the Philippines and she is telling my family that my fiance has to leave right away once he gets his visa.
