I was not allowed to accompany him, but maybe you can find out if your husband can join you? 

 

I don't think you will have a problem at all seeing that you married AND went back on a B1/B2 which is great

To see your profile make me feel happy ! I was thinking that gay marriage between African and USC are exeptionnal. I met my husband when I was under J1 visa.I returned to my country then he came to visit me .I visited him again under a B1/B2 and we got married before I came back in my home country. And he will come again 2 times. We will have 5 visits before the interview. Partners are allowed in the embassy but as we are same sex couple we don't want to have any issues. So we decide he will not attend the appointment. Also the trip is expensive and we have to save money. Thanks a lot for your response I'm now more relaxed.

Great to help. Seems like Kenya Embassy would not let me come there to be at the interview. I could not have made it anyway, but it is good moral support. They of course, treat USC  in a deferential manner compared to non-USC...of course since we can complain to our Congress if they don't.

I say either just because often, the USCIS people give either wrong information OR make it sound it is easier than it is. Take the K1 initial petition. The documentation they say to submit looks deceptively simple compared to what is really required.

Well I'm saying bye to this. My wife had her oath on Feb 14 after being rescheduled from January due to poor weather. Her interview went well with no problems. DONE :-)

My spouse has applied for citizenship (we are in the 2018 February N-400 group).  We could have filed last April, but circumstances (my father was dying) kept us from getting our act together.  In fact, now, I'm glad, as we were able to apply online, which was SO much easier!

 

The current projection for her oath ceremony is next February, but it seems it is not taking that long for most...

 

I'm hoping, at some point, that the Bi-national couples group will no longer be necessary!  For those of us who were first through the gates, I'm hoping that the succeeding generations will appreciate our hard work!
