Once your file is at NVC, you should get the case # within couple of weeks.

Now, how long it takes for your file to get to NVC - is a completely different story. Do you know where you file is right now?

yes, i got my noa2 after 10 months approved on june 17, and nvc received it on june 24. i called like june 26 and they told me to call back in 25 business days if i have not received a case number. i also sent an email on june 26 to nvc inquiring on case number and giving our emails as good contact just to establish communication, but i never received a reply back.

Congrats on finally getting NOA2 after that long! It's good that you know your file is at NVC. (NVC confirmed that, right?)

Now it's really just a matter of days before you receive the number. Realistically, you should not expect it in less than 7 days after NVC receives the file, so that should be around now. You can call daily until you receive the number. They will always tell you to wait certain amount of time.

Once you get the number on the phone, then you give them both email addresses.

Reply to those emails may take longer (3-4 weeks) to get a response back than to get the number over the phone.

you guys are all really awesome, i appreciate it. i think my biggest obstacle i hope was my i-130 because it was just so never ending. but i know we will need a waiver after his interview at the consulate but i am a little more calm now that i did confirm it is at nvc so ill call back later next week and see if i get any different news, hopefully.

The staff assistant at my Congressman's office who has been helping me contacted me today to follow up.

I told her that we got the Case Number, paid the AOS fee, and are currently waiting for the NVC to reply to the DS-3032 email my wife sent. She asked if we got the email from the NVC with the DS-3032 form. I told her yes and she said if we don't get a reply by Friday that my wife can sign and scan the DS-3032 and email it to her and she'll send it in on her behalf. She said she has a direct email to send it to and should be able to get it approved the same day.

I think this is great. However, I know the FAQs say that you shouldn't email the DS-3032 again unless you get an email from the NVC that they rejected it or it's been over two weeks.

Should we wait or is it OK to go ahead and let the staff assistant send it?

Just received an email from NVC stating that AOS and IV forms are missing in the packet. Since i am working via an Attorney they had sent both the forms and supporting documents in one packet. I am guessing this is similar to the false checklist many have got in this tread recently. I had earlier called NVC today morning just to check on status. Not sure if this prompted them to open the file. I guess not since the operators just check status on the computer. This is weird.

It should have come with a checklist bar coded cover page. You'll need to correct the mistake and send the NVC the I-864 again. The whole form not just the one section, re-dated and signed. You should not have to send the AOS documents again however.
