Hi there, not sure if this is the right place to post this question but I would like to know if anybody here had a similar situation just like mine, I am already married here in US for almost 4 years now, and me and my husband have a plan to renew our vows this coming July in the Philippines and we will gonna have a Beach Wedding , we just want to do this so that my family can able to witness us getting married, Anyway I just recently Reported my Married in the Philippines Consulate in Los Angeles to be properly registered and recorded in the Office of Civil Registrar General in Manila ( Philippines )last 2 months ago I have to do this to be able to renew my Philippine Passport.

My question is, do we need to get a license? or can we just do the wedding since I already reported it anyway? Any other requirements? Please let me know any other information regarding this. Thankyou so much in advance.

I did that as many others have. You won't need any license since you are already married recognized by both countries. You can have a ceremony for the family there. If you plan on doing a Catholic wedding requirements can be a lot depending on the priest and local church. You will have to find that out. If its non-catholic then its a matter of paying someone to do the ceremony. You can get more details on this maybe in the Philippines forum if you do a search

Have a ceremony! Have a party! Have fun!

That's it... you don't need anything.

Like said if catholic... well they have more rules than Carter has pills.

Renewal of vows is just a "show" there are no requirements. Catholic church may have their own requirements, don't know on that.

Follow up question:

Aren't they already married?

There is no "second wedding" process, renewal of vows only.... just a recreation, There are no requirements, unless the church has "rules"

Two year old topic .. might want to ask your question in a new topic.

And my Tagalog sucks ....  and my asawa isn't here at the moment.    Dang~

Here is a shot.  You never completed ROM with the consulate representing the state where you were married?

Requirements for ROM are on the consulate website.  In your situation I would say that is Chicago.

Hello....My wife and I are planning our Catholic wedding in May '17 in Bohol. We are married here in the USA, August 2014 by Judge (civil). We have submitted our ROM Nov.'16, my wifes "change of name" (Philippine Passport) Jan. '17, "report of birth" Jan.'17 and Philippine Passport for baby Jan.'17. Will this marriage be considered a renewal of Vows? Considering it was a civil ceremony prior to this upcoming Church ceremony? Or will we have to submit Application for "legal capacity to marry a Filipino" and Apply for marriage license?

We are already working on Documents for the Church necessary in advance. We just want no legal mishaps with the local Barangay or Manila considering I am an American.

Any info would be much appreciated. Salamat.

First, congratulations on the newborn. Exciting times for your "new family".  You'll be just renewing your vows as you are already married to her so no "legal capacity to marry a Filipino" is needed.

By the way, this thread is more than 3 years old and it would be much better to start your own topic as a new entry.
