NVC Filers - April 2013

2,135 posts in this topic Register to Ask a Question

All of our packages were sent in as of the 9th of April... Not sure when I should start calling NVC inquiring about a case complete, seeing as they always say give us 10-20 business days to process everything...

Call in each day this week, twice a day if not more, I would say they'll be reviewed at the end of the week or early next week unless they are clearing the backlog faster than before.

I was about to mail the IV packet today, but I am not sure if submitting 1 copy of my birth and marriage certificate is enough for both parents' cases. I put a note saying that the certified copies are attached to related case and mentioned the NVC case no. So mom got all the certified ones and dad got the photocopies and the note saying that certified copies are attached to mom's case. Do you think I'm gonna get a checklist for this? Or this will suffice? Thanks in advance...

hey saline , do they take more than one day to review the IV package ??

More than one day from the package arriving in the building or one day once they actually start reviewing? Either way, it's typically yes, longer than a day.

As long as they're in the same manila envelope, it should suffice, yes.

Just called NVC and I will be getting a checklist for a missing birth certificate(it was burnt in a fire) I sent in the certificate from the issuing authority stating that they didn't couldn't find the info and also sent in the certificate of baptism. I told the guy at NVC that I will bring the document to the interview, he said that I have to send it in to NVC. Is that correct Saylin? Should I wait until I get the checklist to let them know that I will bring it to the interview? Thanks

Yes, I will mail them together in one envelope, 2 different folders. Thanks...

Just wondering though if somebody did this before and everything went well.

By the way arriyan, from when you initially submitted the IV package (without the Singapore Police Certificate) until you got the Singapore Police Certificate (after NVC sent you a checklist), how long did it take you ? We are going mail our original IV package (no Singapore Police Certificate yet :() today so we just want to estimate how long it will take until we can get a case complete.
