Is it ok for us (me or my husband) to translate his mother's documents for submission? Or is this looked upon with suspicion? When I applied for the K-1 I translated and then had a friend that was also fluent sign off on it. We no longer live close by. Should I ask another friend or can we just do it ourselves?

I remember I read somewhere that the translator shouldn't have any relationship with the beneficiary. So, I suggest a close friend to sign-off for the translation. I did the same.

Hello i need some help regarding a document that shows my relationship to my step daughter !! i sent it to the NVC and that is my marriage certificate to her dad .... now when she goes to the interview does she need to show the original? or the one i sent to the nvc sufficient? if sheneds original does it need to be certified and translated? its so useless if nvc approves documents why do we have to bring the same ones to interview??

It's best not to make up the rules according to something you think you heard somewhere. Do you have a source to cite?
OP, yes, you can do the translations if you're proficient in the languages. Sign it with your own name. I did all the translations for my husband's petition. See this USCIS page.

You're wrong. I translated all the documents for my brother and his family. They all got visas and green cards. The only requirement is that the translator is competent in the foreign language and English. There is no other requirement.
