I am in the US and filing an I130. Do I need a copy or original or my husbands birth certificate? And a copy of his passport?
If your husband is the beneficiary, then the answer to your question is none of the above. Such items from the beneficiary are not needed for the initial filing of an I-130.

Eventually yes, but not with I-130. At the later NVC stage you will need to send it in.Okay thanks. It's cheaper for him to send everything at once so just wanted to know if it would eventually be needed so it could be sent out . . .

initial I130 package you can not send everything at once... only the requirement for I130 process. otherwise they will return it to you,
