missed biometrics appointment

It says on the biometrics form that if you fail to appear on your scheduled date that your petition is considered abandoned.

I would try and do a walk in on Monday. I hope you are not denied.

For all practical matters they are the same, i.e. the benefit you are seeking (permanent residency) is not gained and your application is closed.

Worst case scenario is probably that you would have to apply all over again, including all of the fees.

My biometrics was scheduled on the 14th of September and i missed it. I'm going to reschedule it tomorrow. Just wanted to know how this will affect my AOS application.anyone with same experience?

Can someone please tell me how to get email and/text notifications?

I agree with going on Monday. USCIS does not deny the application for at least 30 days after a missed biometrics. The ASC will generally reschedule another biometrics appointment as long as it's within 30 days of the missed one. They require a valid reason for missing the appointment. Make every effort to get this done ASAP. They may just do it on Monday, or they may advise you to come on walk-in day.

My father in law arrived late in the afternoon for his AM biometrics last month. My wife was already running late and then they got hopelessly lost due to road construction. The ASC wasn't busy so they took him that afternoon. My wife was worried about the abandonment warning, but they said not to worry about it. Of course we haven't got a case status update yet, but at least they told us not to worry.

Hope you'll respond. I'm in your situation. From Romania too. How did it went? Missed my appointment today due to a vehicle problem. Will try to go there tomorrow morning.

I missed my biometrics because the appointment notice got lost in the mail after I moved to my new apartment. The notice come in the mail (forwarded by USPS) 3 weeks passed the actual appointment date. I went to the Application Support Center and they allowed me to do a late walk-in without trouble. This was at Houston-Sugar Land USCIS facility. I believe you can only do your biometrics with the letter in hand. If it doesn't come call USCIS. They said they allow walk-ins as long as they are not too busy.
