Visa Status Update

So I called DOS again this morning. She said the visa is still under AP. She said the case looks really good and they don’t need anymore documents. I said if you have all of the documents you need, then what is holding it up. It’s been 2 weeks now. She said all cases go through AP, but she couldn’t tell me how much longer it is going to take.

August 2, 2012 - NVC sent case to Embassy

April 19, 2013 - Online status says interview date was scheduled and notice was mailed out
April 22, 2013 - NOA received for Interview

May 7, 2013 - AP approved
May 23, 2013 - AOS Interview

Yea i dont understand u already had your interview, u passed, so wheres your visa? This must be a jamaica embassy thing, in the phil its usually 3-5 days later u get ur passport back

awwww, WTF . . . I hope we dont have to go through this when it is my turn . . I mean people need to plan and this is just another unnecessary HOLD UP . . okay, my vent is off. Thank you for listening . . .

Yea i dont understand u already had your interview, u passed, so wheres your visa? This must be a jamaica embassy thing, in the phil its usually 3-5 days later u get ur passport back

It's not a Jamaican embassy thing, the US Embassy here in Jamaica has been issuing visa on average 0f 3-5 days too, both for immigrant and none-immigrant. I had my interview on Monday. Got my visa yesterday. I don't know about everyone going through AP after interview. If that were the case the waiting time for visa for everyone would be longer. All the necessary checks are usually done during the length of time filing the petition takes. Some case get put into AP after an interview for several reasons: further background checks, further verification of co-sponsor's info, etc.

I do feel for you OP. I hope them telling you that everything looks good means you will be out of AP soon and the visa issued. All the best.

Ness ap processing is short in jamaica...longest I heard was about a month...everyone does go through it some only take a few days some longer...I sent in documents needed to embassy dhl...took 3 weeks to issue visa...ricky u been waiting a week be paient the embassy says wait about 2 weeks...everyones timeframe is not the same it soon be there

Great news. Sounds like it will be ready for pick up/delivery either Monday or Tuesday.

you can pick it up today before they close, i got mine less than 1 hour after it arrived there.

Do you need to arrange for pickup ahead of time...like at the Embassy when you pay the DHL fee?
