I've been trying to search for the answer. For an initial visa interview of spouse of USC, if the spouse is adjusting from their native country, does the USC spouse have to go to that country and attend the interview with their spouse? How does that process work?

Usually not, only the beneficiary gets interviewed. In many countries it can be a positive thing for the petitioner to be there- even if they usually have to wait outside- because it goes towards a "bonafide relationship" if the petitioner is there to support the beneficiary. Plus it calms the beneficiary's nerves, I am sure!

Thank you for the reply. It's just the financial aspect. I have 3 family members going through the immigration process and the cost is staggering. So I just didn't want us to have to come up with an additional $1,300 for a round trip ticket if we didn't need to.
