Have your wedding ceremony? Do you mean a non-legal ceremony?

The K1 visa is a fiancee visa. You will be denied entry if you are married before you enter the United States.

If you wish to marry before entrance to the USA, then you will need to retract your application for a K1 visa , marry, then apply for a spousal visa (I-130)

If you enter the USA as a fiancee, and then leave before marriage or application and receipt of an Advanced Parole document, then you will be denied re-entry to the United States as you would be entering on a tourist visa with the intent to remain. You would therefore have to file for a spousal visa and wait for this to be processed before your spouse can re-enter the USA.

The K1 is a single use visa and is designed for fiancees ONLY

No, that would then require you to file a spouse visa petition and pay the $$$ and wait many more months.

K1 = marry in US.

You can certainly have a party anywhere in the world before you marry.

You can take whatever physical path the the US you want. You could tour every country then arrive. You must NOT be married when you arrive.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks guys, this is what I meant. Not official wedding legal ceremony. Just a party to celebrate for us at my home country before we officially get married in USA.

plan that trip before she comes to usa.

So, not come to usa just yet.

She flies from Japan to yer 'home country'. You meet her there. You have a party.

Then the two of you fly INTO the USA, activating the K-1 visa.

Come to USA prior? eek - she can leave usa, but impossible to return , as the K-1 visa is SINGLE USE.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

She will have to stay until she gets her AP or GC. If you have applied for K1 either proceed or withdraw and do the married route, just more money and time to change now. Depends on the two of you and her family.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

You can have a ceremony/party before she comes to the US, but it can be risky. The reason being is that the CO could suspect you are already married. It's doable but don't give the CO any ideas like photos that look like wedding pictures. Many do this after the K-1 is in hand, fiancee arrives to US, and the couple officially marries and applies for AP or waits for AOS.

ya, doing it after K-1 visa in hand, entirely my point.

timeticks resemble this:

1. have interview in Japan at IV Unit

2. get visa

3. fly to 'home country'

4. meet up with beneficiary in 'home country'

5. both fly together INTO USA

<EOM>
