Are you done your CFO? usually they will tell you what to do and expect at the airport. Your packet always keep w/ you all the times that is very inportant. About your carry on, check your airlines if how much lbs is allowed. terminal fee less than a thousand i think. They will open your packet at your POE. Good Luck

yes am done with the CFO seminar last friday but they did not discussed anything about the departure in NAIA bcoz the seminar started late at around 11:30am so all of us in the room were kinda combative bcoz of long hours of waiting. but they told me to present my GCC cert jaz wana ask if there's any booth o window for the k1 visa holder or there is only one room for the Phil immigration? is there again a long line of people?

When you book your flight you will need to have your valid Phil. passport with the US visa in it to show the airline. To board a flight in the Phil. bound for the USA the only thing NAIA and the airline is concerned about is that you have valid entry into the USA and won't be denied entry and the airline would have to pay for your return flight to the Phil. You "envelope" will be taken by Customs/Immigration at the Atlanta airport. My gals POE was Atlanta and it is a very simple and smooth process. Just be prepared, the Atlanta airport is a very big airport and where you get off the plane and where you retrieve your baggage are very far apart - you will either ride an underground airport train from customs to the baggage area or walk the distance.

In order to board your flight to the U.S., you will need the CFO sticker attached to your passport.

Review your checklists both here and on USCIS website to ensure all your documents are correct, CFO, VISA etc. You will be asked for your passport, visa and stamp from CFO upon departing Manila. You will also pay an airport tax. I am not sure what the amount is for Filipinos but I believe I paid 800p last August.

Then upon entry in Atlanta you will walk a decent distance from your plane to Customs and Immigration. Follow the signs for what line you go into. They will then tell you to go to immigration area which is right next to all the booths where Custom Agents review. A few questions are asked about why you are here and maybe where your fiancee is now. Then a bit of a wait in Immigration area where they review your documents. SHould be no issues with you as they just check your documents and ask you questions. Then you get your luggage and off yuo go. If Atlanta is not your final destination you can re-check you luggage right after you go through Customs. The reason for this is that everyone upon entry to the USA must gather all their luggage and pass through Customs. Sometimes they inspect but more times they do not. It is random pick. If Atlanta is your final destination then follow the signs. If you have big bags I believe you can get your luggage at baggage claim as Atlanta airport is big. Keep in mind it takes up to 20 minutes on the underground train to get from the farthest gate to where your fiancee will pick you up or be able to see you for the first time so relax and don't worry. My first time in Atlanta I thought I missed my stop as I rode the trian for what I thought was an hour lol. The train is underground so you go down esclators to ride the train then when you get to baggage claim and ground transportation you exit and go back up esclators. All the above may seem confusing but honestly it is simple and easy. There are many people you will meet on your flight or as you exit the plane that will help you. If Atlanta is not your final destination then you just look at the monitors to find your gate. Keep in mind you can use the train to go from terminal to terminal as Atlanta is big. B and D may be close in the Alphabet but in Atlanta it is a mile walk :o
Good luck

You will have the terminal fee which is Php 550 currently. It was 750 earlier this year but was reduced.
Depending upon how your ticket was purchased you will also have a tourist tax bineg a Philippines citizen. That is another Php 1650 for economy class passengers.

May I ask what airlines are you flying? For international arrival and departure in atl, there is a newly opened terminal for those flights. So the walk from the airplane to the IO and customs will probably not too far. But after you finished with customs, then that will be your long walk out of the airport. As mentioned by previous post you'll need to ride the train in the airport to your terminal destination. You'll see a lot of signs that you'll be able to follow easily. You dont have to pay anything for the train that goes around atlanta airport? Good luck and happy trip. :)

Well, this has changed at the Atlanta airport---Once you come out of the place you will be asked if Atlants is your final destination or just transiting. If transiting, they will show you where to go and if its your final destination then you go right to immigration & customs. They have about 10 officers and you will wait for your turn. As K-1 not sure what questions they will ask but after questioning you, they will let you go and claim you luggage behind the officers. Once you claim your luggage, customs may open your bags or let you go through without openeing them. This usually depends what you declared on the customs form you are given in the plane. Then with your luggage you follow the exit signs to where it will lead you to the waiting area for arrivals.
Your fiance can pick you up over here or if you have to go to the main airport then you will need to ride a shuttle. But its easier to be picked up at the new terminal. Just tell him to follow the signs to the new International Terminal F.

These are the new procedures for the new International Terminal F in Atlanta which I went through on the day it opened May 16, 2012. My final destination was Atlanta.

Nope. You only go through immigration once, upon arrival in Atlanta, and that's the end of that!
