Finally, I was not sure what was going to happen but I got the NOA2 approval today.

To the extent that it may help others here is a brief overview of my efforts. My filing date was Dec. 2, 2011. In April 2000 I recieved an RFE requesting copies of my divorce decree as filed with the local jurisdiction. I forgot the exact words but I had sent a copy of my divorce decree that was entered in 2008. The copy I sent had been provided by wife's attorney and did not have a court stamp showing it had been filed in court. I ordered a certified copy and sent it off and my RFE reciept date was April 25th, 2012.

After revieing these formuns I expected an approval withing two weeks of the submission. The notice said I should have decision by 60 days from RFE but most people reportied getting approval withing two weeks of the RFE. When the approval did not come within two weeks I called and put in a service request. I followed up after fifteen days of the service request and was told by CSR that the reply to the service request was that I would have should have a decision in 60 days from the service request.

It seemed that VSC was just kicking the can down the road so to speak. So I follwed the email follow up proceedure by sending an emal to follow up. I had no response so within the 21 day period and send the ten day email. ( using terms for those who know these proceedures). In addition, I contacted my congressman and followed their proceedures and the congressman's office sent an email.

I got a boilerplate respons from the 10 day email. However, Monday of this week, I was suprised to get an email from VSC that in repsonse to my email, my petition was being expidited and I should have a decision very shortly. Today I my status was changed and the petition approved.

The link pasted below shows the email follow up procedure I referenced in this post. I am not sure if any of my efforts helped in moving the case but I wanted to record my experience in the event someone finds it helpful.

I will have do a Tebow here and thank God becaue he is indeed ultimatly in charge of all things. Thank you Lord.

I hear ya.

It took me 42 days to get the NOA2 after an RFE (forgot to check yes/no on criminal background).

I did a service request on day 35 and it may of taken longer than 42 days if I didn't.

It then took them another 25 days to send it to NVC (had to call USCIS and talked with a tier 2

to get an "expedite"). Got NOA2 on 6/4/12 NVC received on 6/29/12.

I'm hoping it is at least sent to the consulate now. I don't want to do the request/calling game with

NVC as well.

I have to bone up on the rest of this process now. I am just relieved to get this far. Maybe I should try to expidite the sending to NVC right away?
