Is your son's father a US citizen? Everything depends on how long the US citizen parent(s) spent physically residing in the US prior to the baby's birth. I'm not sure that the residence requirement means you have to have been a citizen for all the time you resided in the US, I don't think so, but if you have not have completed the necessary time, it will be necessary to prove that the baby's father lived in the US for 5 years, 2 of those after he was 14 yrs old. Manila has a particularly detailed explanation of the qualifications on their website:

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .
Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.
2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.
CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

You need to have had physical presence in the US for at least 5 yrs, 2 of which after age 14, for your son to qualify for CRBA. If you're not eligible to pass on citizenship because you haven't met the residency requirements, you have to file a petition for your son for an IR-2 visa.

No but you can file for a green card for him and when he enters the USA he will instantly be a citizen based on the Child Citizenship Act of 2001
