Today i check my case status in uscis web site n case is in Initial Review .....whats mean of Initial Review ????????????

Got ds 3032 :23 March 2010

Interview : 09-09-2010 Result :Administrative Processing

In december 2010 priority dates retrogessed and wait priority date current again in

MARCH 2012 2nd

Medical submit :07 March 2012 Result :Administrative Processing

3rd Medical submit :28th Feb 2013 Result Administrative Processing

4th Medical submit :26th Feb 2014 Result :Got email reply from embassy that they will call me for finger prints and oath ..and still waiting Got call for finger prints and oath

on 12th MAY Went for finger prints and oath :21th May Result :ApprovedVisa Issued :22.05.2014

 

visa Issued Today after 3 years 8 months and 13 days

Green Card fee paid : 05/06/2014

Poe :17/06/2014

Ssn Received :27-06-2014

Green Card Produced and Mailed :07/22/2014

Got 10 YEAR Green Card :25/07/2014

Why they are checking my back ground from last 2 years ...i got call from embassy 3 months ago to send new medical and pcc n ds230 and still waiting for visa....how much more time it will take?????

it's the worst two words that the uscis have,(initial review)which is checking your back ground,

"you're denied" has GOT to be worse than "initial review"!!!! Just sayin.

HUSBAND'S CASE

9/17/2011 - sent I-13

09/19/2011 - noa1 received

3/16/2012 - case sent to my local USCIS office for additional processing

4/21/2012 - AP. If we haven't heard from them in SIX MONTHS (omg) we can feel free to call them!!! Thanks!

9/20/2012 - Interview scheduled - October 3!!!!

10/3/2012 - Interview went well but she must look at his A-file more before decision.

10/12/2012 - I-130 APPROVED! APPROVED! APPROVED!

04/20/2012: NOA107/20/2012: instead of an approval, we got thrown into AP. sigh

05/15/2013: Emailed embassy BEGGING them to let boys drop off passports for visa insertion. IT WORKED!!!

06/02/2013: POE JFK!!!!!!

i am using receipt number starting from Eac to check status.....

That would only tell you what's happening when you first filed... ours began with WAC... so you're looking at very old news...

IS this the same number you use to check your case at the embassy/DOS? Doesn't your case number when you call them begin with ISL?

you are after your interview and would be using your ISL number now.. i don't think anything on the USCIS site would show the info currently going on at the embassy. Altho I could be wrong... but if so you would need to use the number the embassy is using and the one you use to call and check with DOS and embassy about your AP at this time

Then all you are looking at is the info BEFORE you got to the embassy. It won't give you current information about your case now.. just the stuff prior to it going to embassy. Basically it's old news and has nothing to do with your case now. the only number now of importance is your ISL number.

If im wrong i apologize but i've never heard that you can check your Embassy AP status on the USCIS website using your NOA receipt numbers.

The initial review took way less time for us than the post decision activity so perhaps if your initial review takes a long time then your post decision activity might take less time. Some people have been really lucky in the process. We are almost at two years for our process and hoping for a second interview in August making it two years of paperwork. Patience is a virtue. Good luck
