My Ramadan consisted of 10 "off" days if u know what I mean....weird spotting I guess due to stress.

I switched career fields from pre-Nursing to being a sonographer (ultrasound), and
I work from like 8-5 then classes from 6-10, so I am EXHAUSTED....but i still get up and eat suhoor and fast.

Nevertheless, finally when i can fast, I take a erm emergency pill which makes me soooo
nauseous I had to break my fast...now I think I have bronchitis or something,...I am reallyyyy weak, short of breath, with the nasty cough, and dizzy so I broke my fast to eat and take some cough medicine to tide me over till I can get to a dr. (and if he puts me on antibiotics...again no fasting)

All this to say I never had to break my fast for so many reasons in my life... I am gonna basically make up the whole month I guess....I just feel so frustrated...

Where's the frustrated emoticon?

I can relate to this. Because of some not quite so minor health issues I had to stop fasting and will make it up when I am ok. But I try to hold the "spirit of it" anyway by still avoiding other things besides food and water.

Those will all do the part actually.

I am trying not to be too grumpy around everyone that is fasting but I can't help it...
I just hate being sick....whats the point of it anyway? hmph!

I just never had to struggle to fast like this... oh (bleeping) well!

I should try harder to keep the spirit of it. ...maybe I can down somemore flu meds, lay down, and
pass out for a while.

Each Ramadan is different I guess, and I just need to stop and rest more, I am too
dizzy to do all this typing and reading...Im outta here, sandman here I come!

If you go by what scholars say, spotting would be considered non-menstrual bleeding, "istihadha", and you can still fast.

I love the feeling I get when I am praying Maghrib, not just because I'll be able to eat finally but the total feeling of weakness and abandon that I feel.

That being said, I cannot wait for Eid because not taking my pain killers for my Lupus/arthritis during the day is really taking a toll on me and I feel totally useless.

It's not lost yet! We still have these last 10 days, when the gates of paradise are open!

And if you can't pray, then there's always other ibadah to do - dua and dhikr especially :)

inshaAllah I hope that next Ramadan goes better though (F)

Ye I love that feeling too... esp after feeling so weak and tired all afternoon!

That's true, not to gross anyone out with too many details, but the spotting happened on the day
of my cycle which I thought was just the true thing, but just lighter...anyways by the time I realized it was not my true cycle the real thing hit which was no where near spotting so I couldn't fast so....

But thanx for the input, I am feeling better, and I will just have to do my best to
scrape up the last of these precious days doing my best...Allah knows how much I need this
Ramadan.

I hope everyone has their prayers answered and sins forgiven this Ramadan. I usually don't post
as often as I should, you can see the date I joined and I'm still a gold member LOL, but
I still enjoy the site when I have time.
