I think that she has set me up. she has been planing this all along, and i have been the fool, she is 25 years younger than me and she is in the process of getting her citizenship. she is waiting to here from them to get an appointment. so my question is: should i inform imigration that this may have been fraud? do i do anything? the marriage has been for 4 years. please give me some advice

*** Moving from US Citizenship to Effgects of Major Changes forum ****

Unless you have evidence/ she has admitted that she has the boyfriend for a long time, this doesn't seem fraud, just a marriage gone bad. Surely some of those 4 years were happy, for both of you?

That being said, since you are married 4 years I assume she is applying for citizenship under the "3 years married to a US citizen: rule? If so, you can certainly inform USCIS and if you are separated by the time the interview/ oath comes around, there is a good chance she will be denied. But all she needs to do is apply on her own once she's been a greencard holder for 5 years and she will be approved.

If she's getting citizenship based on 3 years and the marriage is ending then you need to tell them. She won't be eligible for citizenship until she's been an LPR for 5 years if it's not based on her marriage to you.

It's hard to fake a relationship for 4 years so I doubt it's fraud but if you think it is and you have evidence by all means tell them that you believe you were played. It's likely nothing will come of it but if it makes you feel better to report your concerns, that is your right.

i am sorry this happened to you but this seems to happen often in colombia and latin america i general. (not that colombia is bad bc my husband is from there) but with that being said people look for people they can get over on so they can come here to usa. i know many ppl who have been taken advantage of for immigration purposes. I am sorry and good luck with everything

OP, don't allow this co consume you.

Divorce, as quickly as you can, notify USCIS, and move right on.

As humans, we have emotions and who is to say she didn't just meet this chap? Either way notify USCIS and move on. 13 years marriage with 4 kids, numerous homes purchased but when I divorced my Ex she still thinks I was scamming her so like someone else said above 4 years may not be really scamming.

You can of course contact ICE and the USCIS, but honestly do you believe she faked a relationship with you for 4 years?

If all she wanted was to be in the US all she had to do was ask for a divorce after she had her GC in hand.

If it was me I would not stay for 4 years if I was not actually in love or wanting a relationship, there does not appear to be any extra material gain in waiting that long AND even if her plan was to wait, apply for citizenship and then petition someone from her home country, she only had to wait 3 years, not 4 OR divorce you and wait 5 years.

TL;DR it does not sound like fraud from the information you provided.

she has the right to get her citizenship through you, you have been married for 4 years.
honestly, it just sounds like a marriage gone bad. that can happen. most fraud cases, from what I hear, leave their spouses after they got their greencard. but she got her greencard, removed conditions and applied for her citizenship.
there's nothing wrong so far what she did. I can also only refer to you statement above. you might have 25 years in between, but out there ... there are a lot females who like older man and marriages work out.
you might be a little sour, that it didn't work out. understandable.
just divorce her and move on. I don't see any reason to contact ICE. pretty unbelievable, that people tell you to go to ICE ... USCIS right away. make sure, what her intentions were! she might just stopped loving you.

Talking about being scammed by a colombian myself.
I honestly think she did't scam you that is such a long time for her to be with you pretending or without love... unless maybe money, comfort?? i have being in Colombia 3 times and i know a lot people and heard many stories... anyways i can tell you it will be hard to prove she did in the case she did.
Just move on with your life

Have her legally served a divorce petition -- smile when she tells you she got it, split up amicably, divide any community property you might have together, keep the blood sucking lawyers out of it -- do it your divorce "pro per" if you can. Take a break to re coup financially and emotionally, then get back in the saddle and find a much hotter, loving and caring woman -- then be happy.

You can run faster with 100 people going in your direction than you can with 1 person around your neck. Emotionally and psychologically, she's moved on, the sooner you get her out of your life -- the sooner you can find your slice of happiness.

I know of somebody that sent USCIS letters stating of being used by her divorced partner to get legal status. This ex partner already has the GC but its been almost three years since the application based on the 5 year rule and so far USCIS still has his case "under investigation" it seems an eternal process. That is sad since it was an actual bad marriage.

You don't work for the secret service, do you?

Just Kidding.

Just a thought. Maybe you could use the fraud issue to get more favorable terms in the divorce.
