May I ask how long did it take for your spouse to get an ITIN?
My wife has applied ITIN for me and it has been one week but nothing just yet. I signed the W-7 form and sent a notarized copy of marriage certificate, my national ID card copy and my passport biographical page. I hope that is enough evidence.

In my case we haven't received a letter but got the ITIN number on the phone because they had just assigned it on friday. When I called ITIN # they said it takes 4-6 weeks to process the tax return and get a refund.

In my case it took 2 months because we didn't attach a US notarized copy of the passport. We got a letter a month after we first filed the application and then sent US notzrized copy of passport on May 1 and ITIN got assigned on May 25.

because you can't file 2011 taxes in december right? or am i missing something?

no, it was a TY 2010 set filed in December of 2011.

My wife received her ITIN in 2-3 weeks, which was applied for when we filed the joint return. We received our refund about a week after receiving the ITIN.

Thanks. Hopefully we get refund in a week too. I would like to get IRS transcript with AOS packet. My AOS invoice will be generated anyday now.
Do you know how long after the refund is issued the IRS transcripts can be ordered?

Applied for and received it in February.

I also requested a tax transcript a few weeks later, got it without any issues. After April 15, I have no idea.

Notice of improper signature on 3/5/11 (LIE...everything was signed. Scanned form for hubby to sign and mailed it back on 3/6/11 along with highlighted signatures of the first)
Called on 3/27/11 told they couldn't tell me anything without him.
Conference call with husband and IRS on 3/28/11. Told ITIN was issued on 3/27/11
Refund released on 4/4/11.

I requested my tax transcript for 2011. It arrived within a week. When I saw the refund in my acct. I sent the photocopy of my paper filing packet to NVC. They never asked my husband for any of it.
