I'm not sure if this would be the proper place for this topic but I didn't know where else to put it. My husband is from Haiti and currently has a 2 year conditional green card. He is wanting to attend school this next fall and has applied for government aid which they said he has a chance of qualifying for it. BUT the only thing is...when we applied for his green card after we got married my parents had to help 'sponsor' him because by immigration standards I did not make enough money this last tax year. So...on the I-485 form I believe it mentions at the end something about if you sign the paper you are responsible for any government assistance if the green card holder gets any or something to that effect and there was other things as well on there. So my question is...IF my husband used that government aid would my parents be held responsible for that?? How would I find that out? Call USCIS? Thanks Nicole
