If you fill it online, it is updated right away. There is a note that states that you should not mail it in if you changed it online. Online is the fastest way to get it updated in the system. I would also call to verify that that it is done. I've read of individual's mail being returned because they were sent to the old address.
Don't forget to change address online at the post office as well. I understand that government mails are only sent to the address on the envelop and are not forwarded to new addresses, so it would be wise to check at your old address for mails - if the PO does not return it stating that you no longer live at the old address.
Take every precautionary measure so that there is no hold-up, returns, or diversion of your mail. After you confirm that your address is updated in the system, call to speak with another representative to reconfirm. All the best.
