hey..my interview is in two days...i have everything prepared, when i called to change my interview date,i asked if there are any interview fees i have to pay..they said no!....i know they know better, cause they work there, and they wouldnt lie to me,but i want to make sure,i dont have to pay anything for my interview...

Any quick answers are much appreciated!

Wish me luck!..Wednesday is the day!

You don't need to pay anything at the interview but you will need to fill out DHL's air bill. You can pick up the form at any DHL or they will give it to you at the consulate. Once you receive the package, you will need to pay DHL. Last time it was around 5 lv, if you pick it up directly from DHL's facility.

If you are missing photocopies on any documents, the consulate will make copies for you for $1/page.

Hope this helps.

We sent in our AOS/IV package (from the States) on the 14th of June by certified mail.

I called yesterday and they said they still haven't received it. Is this a normal wait time?

The operators don't know a package is in the building until it's being reviewed. So, no need to worry. Your package is likely in the building, making its way to a reviewing officer. You should be getting a case complete (if nothing's missing/incorrect) sometime this week yes.gif

They didnt tell me anything...not a word, what to expect, they just said "ok,your vise will be mailed back to you in 3-5 days"..i wasnt even sure if i was approved or not...sigh...what a torture...

But,please...tell me,even knowing that i am approved...since they have my passport, that means we're good right?

Congrats! You have been approved! Just check your tracking # on DHL site from the air bill or if you are very anxious, call the consulate on the phone and ask them if they send your passport. They are very nice on the phone. The package will contain your passport with your visa and an envelope that you must not open and give it to the immigration officer on the first US airport that you land on.

I am having kinda similar issue you refer to my friend! I mailed my package and at the same time processed my electronic form i.e DS-260 but its been 2 times i have been receiving emails from NVC asking for IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 and its been almost 2 months i am stuck with this problem. Neither me nor my lawyer knows how to deal with this. Any suggestions?

Hey Saylin! Wow this is great work! If I had a thread like this when I went through NVC it would have been much easier for me :P Well good luck to everyone going through this in May, you have a powerful resource to refer to now.

I'd just like to make one small suggestion. Perhaps you can add this for your FAQ as this seems to be happening a lot and people always get confused by it. It happened to me too:

If you mail your AOS package and IV separately. That is, you pay the AOS fee and mail AOS, but not the IV package. Then most likely a false RFE is generated by NVC. As soon as they process the AOS, their system generates the RFE and sends it over to the petitioner requesting that that the NVC is awaiting an Application for Immigrant Visa from the beneficiary. What's even more confusing is that the RFE only requests PART I of the application. Part II isn't even mentioned anywhere.

I went through this, and a couple other folks here on VJ posted threads about it.

Good luck in May everyone!

You're a year behind though, so please come to the current thread instead of May 2012: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/422214-nvc-filers-april-2013/

Hi everyone, I just payed for the AOS fee and is in process and the coversheet they have on the payment portal does not have a barcode on it. How do I get the barcoded coversheet. Does it only become available once the payment is processed?
