Hi all, my wife and I have a credit card under the same account. The cards look identical except for the name on them. We obviously want to include them in the ROC package. Should we leave the card number completely visible (to show that it's the same) or should we delete it partially? Not that I don't trust our friends at USCIS, but better safe than sorry, no?

It would probably be best to send them a statement or two instead of a copy of the card itself. We didn't block anything out either. It just leaves something for them to question IMHO.

Is it a joint credit card account (with the statements addressed to both of you)? Or is one of you simply an authorized user, with the statements addressed to just the actual account holder?

If it's joint - send the statements.

If it's an authorized user scenario, send copies of both the cards. Personally, I wouldn't redact any part of the card number (you want to demonstrate they are identical after all) - but for security you could (for example) redact the expiry dates, or (if appropriate) the CVC codes.

My wife is an authorized user, and all correspondence and statements come under my name only.

What I did is have the credit card company send us a letter that stated that we were authorized users on each other's credit card. For example, Mr. Sachinky is an authorized user on account number 01948830. Sachinky is the primary account holder. Vice-versa. Highlight that information. Contact your CC company -- they should be able to do that for you. Easy enough.

We also have one credit card on which we are joint holders. All the statements are in both names.

That's a good idea, I will do that. Thank you.

I think @sachinky's suggestion is best. Often, I've found that you can contact a company or government agency to confirm certain facts for you, such as the status of an account or who the beneficiary is, or how much one is paid, etc.

Another option is to print out your credit card statements yourself from your online credit card accounts. These should show the account numbers are identical.

Personally, I sent photocopies of the cards and blocked out the last 4 numbers. I wasn't about to give them the whole thing, you just never know.
