Hello everyone, I'm new to this website. I will briefly explain my background. it's been two years that I'm with my future wife, we send a file I 129F 15 December 2011. Now it waits, but what scares me is that we only received an email that said the Vermont service center took care of our record with the number of the USCIS website. But we have not received anything else, and I see on the forums that you have a hardcopy and you write touched touched .. it scares me it's been 2 months and a half that we started our folder and ... is a long time, I want to marry my hunny ^^ (L)

Thank you my friends love

If you look at your timeline you will see that the estimated time for your petition to be adjudicated will be early April. It may come earlier or it may be later, you just can't be sure until it does.

Sadly 2.5 months isn't that long in comparison to some other timelines you see. However, considering you are with the Vermont Service Centre and your estimated date is next month, I don't think you will have that much longer to wait.

Hang in there, get everything prepared in advance (start thinking about vaccinations, police checks, etc) and try to remain upbeat and positive.

Did you get a receipt number from USCIS (VSC)???

It may have been included in the email message from USCIS entitled "USCIS Acceptance Confirmation."

Okay, now we are getting somewhere!

You should get the Form I-797C, Notice of Action, in the mail as you were advised. That is your official "NOA1." However, at least it sounds like you do have your receipt number, that is important. Now, you can contact National Customer Service Center, (800) 375-5283, you will likely have to tell them your receipt number, and inquire about the status of the Form I-797C. Here is the link to the pertinent USCIS web page.

Good luck.

You sure scared me there for a second, you first said "its been TWO years !!!! Ok well congrats on starting the process. The first notification NOA1 is not that important if you do not get the hardcopy as long as you have your receipts number to follow on your progress.

Love goes through challenges and test to be strong  . Enjoy your uniquness with your partner as you wait

Yeah like others are saying here, hang in there, although it doesn't make it any easier for you, just know everyone who is part of this great community can sympathise, we've either been through it, are going through it, or are about to go through it. I didn't see my fiancee for one year and 3 days, it still makes me sad thinking about it, but I can tell you, the good part about it is once you've done it, been through it, and are on the other side, you will have something to treasure that others around you cannot comprehend, you will really truly appreciate the simple things like giving your future wife a hug, a kiss and to fall asleep next to her... you will never take those things for granted

Hang in there, you will get through it, take it one day at a time, and ask yourself how you can make today more special, pretty soon it will all be a memory, thank god.

Thank you All for your help, i feel better now :P

And now for the bad news... from what I've read here on VJ, the status update isn't always provided in a timely manner, if at all. So, that means that you may be farther along in the process and not know it just from checking that page. One member on here mentioned that his status is still showing as Initial Review even though he's already been throught the entire process and his fiance is now not only his wife, but is already a US citizen!

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.
