hey All,

Just a small hesitation from my part, but that might be normal ;)

In form DS-230, Part II sworn statement, question 39 we need to fill out the petitioners name address.
I have found info on the board that this should be the info of my wife as I am the immigrant and thus the beneficiary.

She is a USC, but living with me in Europe. The examples I have seen in this form all gave an US address. Is this necessary or can I just put the actual European address down?

Best regards,
knockse

Yes, you have to mention her US address. Even she is living with you in Europe, but she has temporary living status in EU.

Well, that might the problem. She has no relatives in the US anymore. She has been here for 20 years. We're moving all together to a house in Florida (which isn't ours for the moment). Does it matter if we put down our European address?

I dont know the answer for this. There is field where you would need to fill the address where you guys plan to stay, plus you have to mention the name of person who would be available there. She should show more ties with US residency. It is very important.

It is a present tense question, so answer in the present tense. Note that visiting and residing are not the same thing. If she is a resident in Europe, then so be it.

We live in Canada and have used our Canadian address on forms. Hubby (USC) provided proof of reestablishing domicile with the I864.

Hey Gad33,

Can you tell me how he provided that proof?

We used assets for the I-864 so that showed money in the US. In addition he included quotes for moving our personal belongings and vehicles to California, a copy of a letter from his employer confirming that his job is in California, a copy of his Canadian PR card showing the expiry date this year.

This was accepted by NVC and some embassies/consulates would not ask any more questions but we will have a US address by the interview as Montreal is likely to probe further into domicile.

I had to complete the electronic version of DS-230 and said no I didn't have a US address and the electronic version does not allow any comment as I would have liked to add that we were looking. We decided it was better to be absolutely honest and maybe get an RFE
