I've been perusing everyone's updates from earlier in 2011 until now and it doesn't seem like doing early Biometrics really speeds up the process. Can any of you who actually did early Biometric chime in and share your stories of your experience? I got my Biometric letter today and it's scheduled for next thursday 02/02/2012 and I'm tempted to just do it at that time rather than go early and possibly be turned away or have it delay the process.
C'mon, you are really asking this? Go next week on your scheduled day and time.

Going a couple days early really doesn't make that much difference I would have to agree.

it's a legitimate question. every day helps. my green card is expiring within 6 months and I'd like to get my naturalization done as fast as possible.
anyways, unless you have something productive to say as in chiming in on the topic at hand, I don't need your input.

It would be good then to say upfront that your GC is expiring soon. That makes a diff.

It won't hurt, though, except perhaps to be a waste of time if your local office won't allow it.

Imported two gals with three biometrics appointments each, 450 miles round trip, a total of 2,700 miles of driving to take fingerprints again and again they already have. Ha, had to excuse them from washing dishes at least a month before those dates so they could get good prints. Looking at my hands after working on vehicles in ice cold weather, I would be screwed.

I often look at peoples timelines in their VJ signatures, and noticed a few who did early walk-in biometrics. In your case, pandawars, a week probably isn't worth it. But I've seen some where the biometrics appointment was scheduled for almost a month away, and the early walk-in resulted in an EAD in-hand a couple days before the original biometrics date. To me, that's worth it. So it all depends on how far away your scheduled date is, I suppose.
In my case, I have a job offer but can't accept until I have my EAD (I'm on TN status), so even doing it 2-3 weeks early very well may be worth it. I don't want to miss my chance!

Pardon the necro, but this thread popped up in a google search.

In your case a few weeks might make a difference IPv6Freely, but this thread had to do with citizenship and doing early biometrics doesn;t make much of a difference.

I want to contribute my story to this thread. I had my biometrics scheduled for February 25 th but I had it done on February 5th instead. On February 20th I got an email notification for my interview date . Two weeks after my biometrics
Should work this way, the opposite is not getting your biometrics done in the prescribed time line, your application would be rejected. During our ROC stage, begged the office to take my stepdaughter at the same time, as her conditional green card was delayed to a misplaced I-130, we didn't misplace it, her green card date was 45 days after my wife's. And so was her biometrics appointment, but we did have her letter.
As it turned out, she received her ten year card the same day my wife did. But still with that delayed date.
Application goes to that lockbox, previewed there, then sent to Missouri, they issue the biometrics appointment. The sooner they get the results, the sooner they can forward that to your local field office.
I would try it if across the street, but not sure with a 450 mile round trip.
