My petition was recieved on November 15, 2011. On the last update of my case it shows 11/18/2011. On the 18th of this month, my petition would have been in the hands of USCIS for 2 months. So why haven't i been... "Touched"... I see other people getting touched all the time, is my case non-touchable? Ugh...

dont worry about touches, most people dont get "touched" and then the next thing you know they are approved. I read that it may not be a good thing to get "touched" all the time because it means it may be gettting checked by many officers for better or worse. So be patient it will come when its your turn besides there are many june, july and august filers still waiting to be approved. happy new years

I haven't had touch on my case till I got approved. The touch really mean nothing. It is possible that your case was moved from one pile to another, which would make it a touch but no one actually opened it. :) Just get ready for a wait. VSC been pretty quick lately so may be you get lucky and get it quick.

I filed in August and I still havnt had any touches or approvals and were almost at 5 months...
In that case I would say dont even worry about anything until your past the 5 months,
Were all frustrated on the same ugly boat.

There is good touch and bad touch.

If it's touched too many times you will go blind!

Happy new years to you too!

Hopefully it does go through quickly! I check the website every-single-day, just to see if the status moved or what-not. It is fustrating, but oh well.

I would like to know is, how much time does it take for USCIS to say "This person will be hit with a RFE"? I want to know if by now, im in the safe zone...

About the time they pop your file open for the first "serious look" to decide to approve or... send you an RFE. Sucks when you think about it, if everything were done right you would get a 797 with approved on it, but if there a flaw you get a request for evidence instead. Which seems to add another month to the process ...

Many people check the case status all the time but truth is, its just not reliable (doesn't stop people from checking it though). No reliable indications other than when you receive the RFE or otherwise. Best of luck !

Touches mean nothing. We were not touched or anything for 6 months and then an approval... seemingly out of nowhere with a text and email at 8:30 pm.
