Where is the Alien number on my K1 Visa?

I cannot seem to find the Alien registration number on my Visa. There is a number that begins with a G on the very bottom of my passport. Is that it? It is followed my the letters MEX then another 7 numbers, then an F and then another7 numbers and so on. There are numbers in red. Are these the Alien number? Under Annotation, it says "blanket waiver". Does this mean that I do not have an Alien number yet?

Also, thanks to some good advice here on VJ, we are sending in an AR-11 Change of Address form. We could not do it online without the Alien number, but my question on this is do we send in an AR-11 for each of my two sons who came here on a K2 Visa?

As far as that goes, do we file an I-864 for each child with a K2 Visa, and with the K1 visa, or does it all fall under me, the K1 recipient? Am I asking this correctly? I know that we need to file an I-485 for each kid, but is it the same for the I-864?

Thanks for your help!

The A# is not always on the visa itself. If it is on the visa it is going to have " A# " in front of the number.

It is sometimes written by hand on the I-94 by the POE officer.

It is on the NOA 2.

The red number is the VISA number not alien number.

The number with the G and bunch of numbers and letters is not needed for anything.

Blanket waiver means he has a waiver for the medical - has nothing to do with the A# number. Everyone has an A# when the petition is approved.

The number in red is the visa number. The A number can be found on the NOA2. Do not trust it on any other document.

I don't believe K2's have alien numbers. You don't really have to file an AR-11 until after you've filed an I-485 at least. There's a reason for it mentioned on many AR-11 threads but the basis of it is the I-485 is what states you need to keep your address up to date and you sign your agreement to that proviso when you sign that form. Prior to signing and submitting the i-485 you haven't signed anything that states you'll keep your address updated.

As far as that goes, do we file an I-864 for each child with a K2 Visa, and with the K1 visa, or does it all fall under me, the K1 recipient? Am I asking this correctly? I know that we need to file an I-485 for each kid, but is it the same for the I-864?

I don't know enough about K2's to answer this qn.

It seems to me, too, that K1 visas do not have an Alien number. But, hey, wow, the very second that I wrote this, and looked at the NOA, I noticed that in the block where it says Beneficiary that there IS a number above the beneficiary's name, and it begins with an "A". Oh my gosh, I think that this is the number that I have been searching for, for forever. Now, since I think that this is the Alien number, (I am not sure yet), is the number the same for the K2 visa? Are you tired of all these questions, yet?

No the K2's doesn't have A numbers. That A number is the K1's A number and only the K1's number.

I never dreamed that filing for the GC would be like this. Oh, I tried to file an AR-11 Change of Address online, but since the visa is a K1, and we are filing after the K1 Visa expired, but we married within the 90 day window, we could not file online. The date at the bottom cannot be in the past. Oh well. I will send them by snail mail on Tuesday.

I know that I am a K1 Filer, but I would think that if you received a NOA with an A number on it in the beneficiary box, that it would their A# even if you filed for K2 or some other Visa. It only makes sense to me that it would be their A# MHO.

I started looking for my Wife's A-number and did not find it on any of her documents listed as A-number. However on her green card it is listed as USCIS# xxx-xxx-xxx. I did a little more checking and found it listed as the "A-number" on her NOA2. This was, of course, the same number as on her visa and her Green Card. You will likely find this number on these documents listed as "registration number" or "USCIS#". Good Luck.
