uscis ??? what the hell??? help

Timeline

we recieved a written letter asking for the forms that come in the Visa packet that the immigration people keep when you enter the country??? for the AOS forms so they can be completed????? im confused as they should have them. the 129f forms the affidavits of support etc. everything that they keep when you enter the country. my wife has allready had her biometrics ,and is just waiting for her interview. anyone else have this ???? i'll be calling them this morning my guess is someone there is confused or someone lost her paperwork :help:

unfortunately it happens, and they need to be reminded of their jobs.

Make an INFOPASS appointment and remind them that for K visas, the beneficiary turns over all of that at the POE so they should have it.

And if you have to, get your Senator involved. They're usually very good at helping out with immigration losing things. They helped us when we were sent an RFE for medical.

If you have photocopies of everything tho, which you should, then that may suffice as response to the RFE.

How exactly was the letter written ... Is it possible they are looking for your NOA2 from your K-1 Visa or did you send that with your AOS package ??

K-1 VISA
08-05-06 - Married in Sycamore IL


AOS / EAD
08-24-06 - AOS/EAD mail to Chicago (Day 1)

11-06-06 - GC & Welcome Letter arrive in Mail (Day 75)

I-751
09-23-08 - Sent Package via USPS (Day 1)
01-02-09 - Received GC in mail (with wrong Resident Since date) (Day 101)

I assume your wife came in on a K1 Visa and you got married

AOS is a totally different proceess, and yes you have to fill out alot of the same forms again.

yup exactly i have to redo all the paperwork plus send in all the forms they didnt tell me to make copies of

customs is holding all her paperwork and doesnt give them to immigration its a good thing they dont tell you to keep copies :angry:

took me 3 tries and over 4 hours
