What is the SHORTEST amount of time you've spent there. Stewart and I want to take a quick trip over to visit his brother in London but we have no time off...and 100,000's of FF miles....is it worth it to go for a long weekend? Leave Thurs, come home sun? Or is that too much travel in too little time??

Just wondering.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

:) True. I am afraid if I don't use the FF miles I'll lose them..and I know he'd love to see his brother - although we'll see him in Oz over xmas...so maybe just hold onto them

thanks for the info

East Coast? I say GO FOR IT! Seriously, that is do-able :D (imo).

Once Mark and I were half way seriously talking about meeting for a (L) long weekend (L) in Reykjavik  ( him flying in from Amsterdam and me from Dallas). Sounded like an excellent idea at the time-till we saw ticket prices :help:

If you have the miles and you are in use/lose status-nothing medical to prevent that much flying in such a short time-I saw go for it!

edit-and have a great time :D

edit- ####### am i doing with these quotes?

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

My wife (when she was still my Fiancee) visited me in London for a long weekend around Valentines day. She left St. Louis early friday morning, arrived in London late friday evening, stayed the weekend and then left around lunchtime on Monday morning.

Part of the reason was that it was Valentines but the main reason was $400 round trip (when the same flights the previous summer cost nearly $1000 !!.

If you can fly during the day instead of overnight that helps with the Jetlag, it just feels like a long day which is really helpful if you only have a few days and can't really afford to spend time getting used to the time difference.

Mark :)

I went to Paris for 4 days once. It was totally worth it! I got there Thurs, and left to go home on Monday. We had lots of time to explore. It was one of my favorite trips, actually.

If it's a choice between only going a few days and losing the FF miles, I would definitely go!
